Amen.
" Where'd you get that feather... somehow it just seems wrong to award a plum prize of a plume to a peli pooper such as pelikan. "
His was the first answer so as soon as he pm's me his address he get the pen. I will put other contests on here to give you another chance at a feather of your own no fear. ;^)
And as for you 'feather, we'll have no cheating here! (Though I can be sweet talked in to a lot by such a beautiful woman!) sigh
So, Unc, you're from South Carolina? I've lived in Spartanburg, Columbia and Myrtle Beach - love the state. The first time I was invited to go out to dinner at a fish camp, I thought the invitor was crazy. Turned out to be the best catfish & grits ever!!!
Hope you all are doing well!
Hi hon, just about ready to ping you and Geek to some music. Hope you enjoy it.
Oh, you doll! Purple is my most favorite color!! One of the sweet(?) gals I work with sings 'When I get old I'll learn to love purple' . . . think she's calling me old? Don't see how she could be - I'm only 35!
Yep, just a lifelong Sandlapper!
Was that the fish camp in Carlisle, per chance?
There are simply the best eating spots all over this state. BBQ included.
Mother, age 85, recalls her mother taking their large family (14) to fish camps and setting the children down under trees would prepare each child a plate with the warning, "Now, just eat what I gie you and nothing else." Then the kids proceeded to fill up on a little fish and loads of hushpuppies and fried onion rings.
You been a gypsy all your life, DJ?
Oh you babe!! I love purple and believe me that poem/song means a lot to me, cause I am woman. ;)
LOL
Oh, my gosh, I forgot about the hushpuppies! How could I have forgotten about the hushpuppies?!?
Not a gypsy - grew up in West Virginia & have lived in Florida nearly 30 years - but for about 12 years in between moved around in Virginia & the Carolinas.
My fishcamp was near Spartanburg.
It's a song? A poem? I thought she was just being sweetly snide.
How come you all quit talking?
Oh there is a poem let me find it on the web, then I'll post it. Okay?
Here's the link... it's a fun poem, and may be a song I'm not sure. Then we have the Red Hat Society which is nation wide.

Judy, we wander in and out. Don't worry I am not very far away.
Thanks for the link - what a great poem. My mother always said you have to start young to be a proper old lady. Kind of hard to do when you've spent so much time being a tomboy, though.
Are you in the Red Hat Society? Have read about it - sounds like they have fun.
Well, Kiddo, you got me laughing . . . a red duster, eh?
Do I take it your not a member of the RHS?
Oh, that must have been the Carlisle fish camp or it's parent. My folks are scattered all over the state and it's good in a way.
I didn't mean anything belittling by the gypsy remark, BTW.
I have at times lived due to employment in Fla. and KY. W,VA and GA.
Oh, I even once spent a lifetime of 6 weeks in Cranford, New Jersey. Sheesh.
Sorry I had to run earlier, a capet vacuuming was very much in order here. Frito's explosion and all.
