RANDOM - Used by college-age young people the last couple of years to mean something other than "random"--probably "strange," as in, "That was random."
To: visagoth
Any of numerous misspelled words posted on Free Republic that somehow become famous and used ad nauseam by just about everyone.

FEMA Dedicated to the memory of a great federal agency consigned to the ash heap of parody. If they don't do anything, we don't need their acronym. Josh Hamilton, Tucson, Ariz. Funny how Josh doesn't toss EPA, HUD, OSHA, and all other kinds of worthless federal alphabet soup agencies into that dustbin.

NUCLEAR OPTION - Political term thrown about by the talking heads (a previously banished term, btw), which, if you didn't catch the meaning the one time it was ever explained, you won't understand. See "Gang of 14."
To: Charles Henrickson
I will be over joyed when my teenage son stops saying "what the random?". Course I guess the alternative could be worse.

GIT-ER-DONE Or its cousin, YEPPER.
To: visagoth
GIT-ER-DONE (Any of its variations) It's overdone. There's no escaping it. It's everywhere, from TV to T-shirts, says Amanda Tikkanen of LaGrange, Ind. Please tell me when we're done with this one. I must confess, I have never heard this one. I do wonder about the over representation of submissions from NW Ohio. I mean, two from Swanton? You have got to be kidding me. #; )

I've heard Larry the cable guy say this but never anyone in RL.
To: Charles Henrickson
Yes, I still don't understand that term.

I'm sensing that
RUDE is the new
RANDOM.
Also, A IS THE NEW B, which I just used, is in danger of becoming the new TWO WORDS.
Which leads me to my next . . .
MOST. OVERUSED. GIMMICK.
. . . as in:
POT. KETTLE. BLACK.
To: FOG724
"Random" was so last year.
Whoops!
SO LAST YEAR: See above.

MEME - Found between "Gang of 14" and "Nuclear option" in the Dictionary of Underexplained Political Terms.
Would a "meme" be to a "mime" what a "vegan" is to a "vegetarian," i.e., sort sort of weirder variant?
Or is "meme" a pantomimed memo?
