>>Can you give us the brisket recipe?
My CT neighbor verbally gave me this. No exact quantities ! But it always works.
Buy a big end-cut brisket (although any cut will work)
Flour both sides and season w/ S&P and paprika...brown both sides.
Cover with ketchup and reduce heat to simmer. (my neighbor just said "a lot" here---the first time I made it - I put "a lot" and then she said "not that much"
put in the veggies!!
The recipe calls for 6 onions - but I cut it back to 4....
Also - 4-6 carrots, and 4- 6 potatoes - all cut to fit.
It takes about 3-4 hours - you'll notice a difference with a fork when the meat's done. It makes a gravy and produces a lot of liquid when cooking. I put a touch of water in initially to prevent the meat from scorching - but too much water and the gravy won't thicken.
Good Morning.
Hi there.. I have been up since 2.. Miss Marple already had the new thread up when I posted the Yawn patrol(but I had not redone pings).. how is your back today?
My back is a little gimpy today. I spent too much time sitting on the floor sorting files yesterday.
Mine is "rough" also.. anticipate it getting rougher, with today's plans.. need to get Toby out & tackle some projects..see you later.....
Thanks, Raven. I've copied that to my e-mail and will make it again. There had been one roast that I didn't put potatoes in and I couldn't remember if this was the one.
