On a more serious note... the worst hangover I ever had was probably a case of carbohydrate poisoning rather than an actual hangover. So, for the record, pizza and strawberry coladas do not mix.

If I am lucky, i can replace the greasy cheeseburger with a slice of leftover clam pizza.

One weekend this past summer, all I had to eat was fresh clams, uncooked. for breakfast, lunch and dinner, all weekend. Great for hangovers! YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!

I have heard that you could get a hangover from the bicarbonate soda in, say, a vodka soda or whatever else one makes with soda water.

To be honest, if I think I'm going to be hung over, I do a Mary Kate the night before.

Sounds kinky.

I've found that I feel better the next day after a night out if I only have one kind of alcohol. I just have wine or if I'm having cocktails, only ones with rum in them, or with schnapps, etc.

Beer before liquor, never sicker.
Liquor before beer, never fear.
Prestone and gin, think again.

From PJ O'Rourke's Alphabet for Schoolboys:

"B is for Beer. It makes you act lewd
And stupid and loud. It's a ruinous fluid
For People with taste, for people who think.
Beer is not nice. It's a bad thing to drink.
The consumption of beer is low-class and risky.
Stick to gin,vodka,cocaine and whiskey."

Well, glad for the study, but I already have some independent research planned for several sessions over the holidays.

My conclusion from last year's trials is that the best way to avoid hangovers is to keep putting them off.

Just keep drinking and the hangovers are few and brief when they do occur. Sure eventually, you'll get one, but eventually, you're going to die too.

(* NOTE: On the advice of my attorney, I include the following advice - do not operate any heavy machinery, or potentially hazardous electronic devices while testing this theory.)
