Well...my brother was a FReeper *long* before I knew the place existed, and he used to send me links to interesting threads. That got me lurking before and during the 2000 election. For the longest time I'd just IM back and forth with him over interesting topics, and sometimes he'd post what I said.
When the Lord of the Rings movies were about to come out, there were lots of threads about them, and I finally joined up in order to post comments in threads about the books. A bit sad, perhaps! ;-)
I'm still more likely to just read the political and news threads rather than jumping in with comments. There are FReepers who are far better at stating things than I am. But this is still my main news source.
Oh, and good evening, all!
Anybody have anything they want me to say when they open the mike up?
Ditto
LOL
Heh...maybe you'll just inspire them to write more angst-filled poetry.
Did you end up getting a new laptop, then? What did you end up with?
As far as I'm concerned, it's the ONLY news source. Everytime I read an article online, I expect a comment section at the bottom.

Well, my Mom and Dad had bought my sister a laptop, but the fan quit and the harddrive was destroyed. They decided to buy her a new one.
When I brought up that I was thinking about buying one, they had it fixed and gave it to me. Pretty cool.
It's a Toshiba Satellite.
Pretty lightweight, then?
I'm wishing for a new system, and I really shouldn't be. My system works...it's just four years old and doesn't always work as fast as I'd like it to. Also it's heavy, so I can't just run out to a coffee house with it if I feel like it. Back home in rural Vermont where there isn't any such thing as wireless, that wasn't anything I thought about, but here, it'd be nice.

I'll tell you what, this is the place for a single guy (or girl) to be...
2) I have no idea; I'm not a huge fan of popular culture
3) The Lusitania sunk, apparently.
Thanks for the link, by the way.
