Kerry Earnhardt after winning the pole at Daytona, 2005 (High Sierra Photo) |
Kerry Earnhardt has been signed on as driver of the No. 13 ThorSport Racing Chevrolet for the 2006 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season. Earnhardt made two NCTS starts in 2005, earning the pole at Daytona in his series debut. He will join current ThorSport Racing driver Matt Crafton, who will continue his duties behind the wheel of the team's No. 88 Menards Chevrolet.
Earnhardt will start his duties immediately, as he joins the team in time this weekend's Preseason Thunder test sessions at Daytona International Speedway.
"We're proud to have Kerry as a part of the team for 2006 and beyond," said ThorSport Racing team owner Duke Thorson. "We had Kerry up at the shop a couple of weeks ago and he met all of the guys and they all hit it off very well. We're excited to have him on board and we look forward to coming out of the box strong."
"I'm excited to have him as a teammate," said Earnhardt's ThorSport teammate Matt Crafton. "It's going to be a lot of fun to see what he can do in a good ride for a full season."
Shane Tesch will remain as the crew chief of the No. 13 Chevrolet. Sponsors for the effort will be announced at a later date.

We can expect to see a bump draft from heaven.

Every February 18th, we will pay special tribute to our fallen leader by hosting a Silent Candlelight Tribute on the grounds of the very headquarters Dale created and enjoyed.
Those who are unable to attend are asked to light a candle in their homes, or wherever they are, and take part in remembering Dale's remarkable spirit

This is a must-read by Tom Higgins.
'Daytona or Bust'
Dave Marcis has one helluva life story, and is one of the unsung heroes of racing.

A copy of the motto is framed and hangs from a wall in Marcis' shop. It reads: "I have done so much with so little for so long that now I can do anything with nothing."

Stewart Injures Arm
RacingOne Report
Posted Saturday, January 14, 2006
Stewart skipped Daytona testing to race in the Chili Bowl.
Tony Stewart Picture 2005 Championship Mounted Memory Autographed
Your Price: $224.95
NEXTEL Cup Series champion Tony Stewart injured his arm after flipping his midget car at Friday night's preliminary action in the annual Chili Bowl, the second time he has wound up upside down this week at the indoor event.
Stewart took a wild ride down the backstretch on the opening lap of his qualifying event on Friday. After making contact with the wall, he flipped three times before coming to a stop.
Stewart complained of pain in his arm after the incident. He was assisted out of his car and taken to a Tulsa hospital for observation.
X-rays revealed no broken bones and a CT scan proved negative. In a precautionary measure, Stewart was fitted with a cast until a more extensive evaluation can be made by his own doctors on Monday.
"I'm a little sore," said Stewart. "The doctors were great and did a pretty thorough evaluation of me. They didn't find anything broken, but just to be sure, they fitted me with a cast that I'll wear until I meet with my doctors on Monday. It looks a lot worse than it is. "In no way should this affect my upcoming test at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, my plans to compete in the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona or my participation in Daytona Speedweeks."
It was the second time Stewart found himself upside down this week in Chili Bowl action. He also flipped in Wednesday night's opening round.

There was a Sound & Speed event for fans last night. Michael, Jamie, Sterling, Kyle, JR and a few more were there along with many CW stars. One very funny thing that happened was.......
Kyle Petty was hysterical!!! There was a charity auction the night before, Buffy Waltrip won Richard's hat that he was wearing. Michael tried it on and Kyle said that Michael reminded him of one of the cowboys in "Brokeback Mountain."
I will post more later. Maybe
LOL

That is funny!
I have a funny Mikey story from last week. My oldest sister and her family live in Lexington, N.C. , and alot of the drivers live around the area. My bro-in-law was in a local hospital last wed. to have some tests run (one of those that no one really wants to have, if ya know what I mean!). My nephews were also there, and one of them called my sister on her cel from another waiting room, whispering that Michael Waltrip was in there! She asked if he spoke to him, and he said, 'No....but his wife is hot!' Heeheehee..... Later, he saw him leaving in a wheelchair, with a little sedated grin. My sister, who is a RN at another hospital there, said he must have been there for the same test that my bro-in-law had. We all got a big chuckle out of this!
