Lucy opened the door to bad TV. Haven't you noticed one of the biggest problems with America is children raised by the boob tube?

Where do you think the brainless libtards all came from? Watching shows like Lucy with her standing around hysterically wailing Whaaa-Whaaa-Whaaa all the time.

TV should be avoided like the plague. The only thing TV is really good for is sports.

Conspicuous by their absence:

WKRP in Cincinnati
Sanford and Son

You just like Sanford and Son because Demond Wilson pulled a gun on Norman Lear.

Yes I am sure your insult rather than a thought out rebuttal has convinced many... that you are an idiot.

Three's Company utterly sucked. Not even close to being on any list

Yep, and the Cosby Show totally blows and sucks, simultaneously. I can't believe how much rerun time that piece of crap sucks up on local stations. Horrible TV.

"...and if British sitcoms are allowed ..."

Benny Hill

Maybe not strictly sitcom, but funny.

They lost me at Blackadder Goes Forth.

I could never get into the "modern" theme.

In fact, I can't fathom the career change from the evil yet brilliantly witty Edmund to that arch-simpleton, "Mr Bean".

I never heard that, but why would that matter to this discussion? Sanford and Son is a whole lot funnier than a lot of the sacred cows on the list, and it's far better than the "Britcom" on which it was based.

That's what I've been told. Not that I blame him. According to IMDB, he's been married served in Vietnam in the early 60's, has been married to the same woman since 1973, has six children, and became a minister in 1984. Sounds like a very decent guy to me.

Yes, I'm not much into the British shows. But Blackadder was hilarious.

"There are many other examples those are just two off the top of my head."

How about the complete acceptance of sexual libertinism?

The glorification of the Kennedys, especially the episode where Elaine meets JFK Jr.?

Kramer never works.

Glorification of step-daughter molester Woody Allen?

Head of NBC joins Greenpeace (gag) to please Elaine?

There are places where they mock whackos, true...as when the "holistic healer" turns George purple, but the underlying worldview is immoral.

British 'Coronation Street', the obvious template for All in the Family.
