Looks like the truck driver was doing a remake of the Chevy commercial of a few months ago where they loaded the cars on the fly. Sad about the two deaths. In California it would take 2 days to release the name of the driver of the car in the ditch. Do they have a different standard in Utah about next of kin?

They said they were not releasing the name of the trucker, pending notification. Must have already notified the family of the other driver.

Oh oh, it's a good thing tube already has that ring and the cashmere sweater coming!! ::smiling::
Can you actually get cashmere on Ebay? I will have to take a look. Although in Texas sweaters are not the thing to wear because it usually turns out too warm during the day. We have definitely needed coats and gloves and boots in the morning.

Mornin Pete,
Thanks for the info. I just recently had a short in a wire in the car and my dashboard lights went out. Little did I know that my taillights were out as well until I went to the shop.
There are definitely a lot of folks out on the roads that should not be driving because they don't put their brain in gear first.

"How am I supposed to gain any points on you when we pick the same drivers?"We seem to have had that problem all year. :-)
Yep, passed Norm, but he's gonna try hard to pass me back during the race.

Don't miss the IROC and truck race today.
MM only needs to start his IROC car to win the million.
Jr's Busch driver is in Schrader's truck today.
McFarland Looking To Make NCTS Debut: Mark McFarland will attempt to make his first truck start of the 2005 season this weekend behind the wheel of the No. 52 Schrader Racing entry. McFarland will drive for JR Motorsports, the team he has been driving for this season on the USAR Hooters Pro Cup tour and will move up into the NASCAR Busch Series ranks for the 2006 season driving the No. 88 NAVY Chevrolet. This weekends ride is a joint effort between Schrader and Dale Earnhardt, Jr.
So that must have been what those two were talking about last night before qualifying.
To: WestCoastGal
Jr said he was asking Schrader how they could cut another second off the times for the truck.
I work until 2 today and then I must get my hair and nails done for the big dinner at the Moonstone Grill near Trinidad this evening. OK, I'll shower and scrape the grease from under my nails...

Wow another second off is BIG!! Weren't they asking Larry Mac for help?
Moonstone Grill is a great name for a restaurant, I bet they have great food.
To: WestCoastGal
I looked for a Web Site but there is another Moonstone Bar and Grill south of us at Cambria. The local one was Merrymans for many years until Sam retired.
My wife and daughter attended a private reception there with RUSH Limbaugh in about 91 before his RUSH to Excellence Show. This was his second trip and my wife, son and I went to the first reception in 89 or 90. We were among the sponsors for his trip...

My neighbor just offered me and the wife two Penn State vs Perdue tickets for free since he can't go. We were polite and told him no thank you.
The truth is he couldn't pay me to drive two hours to State College, sit there in the cold and watch the most ignorant fans in the USA cry after they get beat. I'd rather watch trucks.
To: WestCoastGal
Thanks for the stuff on Jr.! Even though there are so many shops here in the Concord/Kannapolis area, it's Earnhardt country and you mostly see either "3" or "8" or both on vehicle front plates, bumpers and rear windows. We're all big time Jr. fans in my office, which is right across the street from LMS. You never know when you'll run into a driver. I'm pretty sure I saw Jr. pulling out of the car wash in Harrisburg (NC) in a red Corvette the Sat. of Memorial Day weekend. He looked pretty sunburned, but I think it was him.

"I'm pretty sure I saw Jr. pulling out of the car wash in Harrisburg (NC) in a red Corvette"He does have one of those!! Coulda been, you never know.
We can always use more Jr fans here, we're pretty even as far as fans of drivers here on the Nascar thread. Lots of Hendrick fans and MM, Labonte, Rusty and Jr.

I guess the truck race was a wreckfest, they didn't say if anyone was hurt in the first crash, I will go check.
Busch catches Sprague to win EasyCare 200
October 29, 2005
06:33 PM EDT (22:33 GMT)
Kyle Busch won the EasyCare 200 at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Saturday after a last-lap crash ended race leader Jack Sprague's hopes for his first victory in a Toyota.
Sprague, trying to hold off Busch, broke loose on Turn 4 and bumped Busch, triggering a multitruck crash just before the checkered flag. Sprague, in just his second race driving a Toyota, finished fourth.
Busch, who took four tires on a caution with seven laps remaining while Sprague stayed out, won his third Truck race of the season.
Todd Bodine managed to stay out of the last-lap melee to finish second. Johnny Benson was third. Bobby Labonte, who ran into Sprague after Sprague hit the wall and rolled back down the track, was fifth.
Points leader Ted Musgrave had trouble a couple of times that brought out cautions and finished 19th. His championship lead dwindled to 36 points on Dennis Setzer, who finished 13th.
Besides the last-lap crash, the race was marred by two pit crew members sustaining injuries and a fiery first-lap crash involving Steve Park, Mike Bliss and Eric Norris that brought out a red flag for nearly 30 minutes.
Sprague, who won three Craftsman Truck Series championships for Rick Hendrick in a Chevrolet, parted ways with XPress Motorsports earlier this month. He was making just his second start in a Toyota.
Sprague was well on his was to winning for the second time this season when a caution involving Musgrave came out with less than 10 laps remaining. That's when Busch pitted, got four fresh tires, restarted eighth and raced to the front for the win.
OK, all were ok, it was a fiery crash. Darn it, Steve Park needs a ride for next year. He had a good truck today.
And, I guess there was a very bad wreck in the IROC race between Hamilton and Pruett and Busch. Busch got out of his car fast to see if Pruett was ok. They all were released from infield care center ok. Truex won the IROC race, with MM second.
And, for more silly season news..........
Veteran Ken Schrader will move to the Wood Brothers' No. 21 Ford next season, replacing veteran Ricky Rudd, several sources confirmed Friday.
Rudd's future remains unclear. He could retire from the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series, or perhaps still drive on a one-year basis as a fill-in should the Jamie McMurray/Kurt Busch swap not work out, sources said.
Schrader, who has driven the No. 49 Dodge for BAM Racing the past two seasons, is expected to drive the No. 21 for one season, then turn the car over to Jon Wood, son of Wood Brothers co-owner Eddie Wood.
IROC results. Mark Martin wins the championship and the one million buckeroos.
1. (9) Martin Truex Jr., NASCAR Busch Series
2. (12) Mark Martin, NASCAR Nextel Cup
3. (10) Matt Kenseth, NASCAR Nextel Cup
4. (2) Helio Castroneves, IRL IndyCar Series
5. (5) Danny Lasoski, World of Outlaws
6. (7) Sebastien Bourdais, Champ Car World Series
7. (8) Buddy Rice, IRL IndyCar Series
8. (3) Steve Kinser, World of Outlaws
9. (4) Max Papis, Grand American Road Racing
10. (6) Bobby Hamilton, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series
11. (1) Scott Pruett, Grand American Road Racing
12. (11) Kurt Busch, NASCAR Nextel Cup
HAMPTON, Ga. (October 28, 2005) After nearly three decades of championship racing, the International Race of Champions (IROC) and title sponsor Crown Royal made history today by announcing its first ever all-time IROC team dubbed the Crown Royal IROC Legends of Victory Lane. Mario Andretti, the late Dale Earnhardt, Scott Pruett and Steve Kinser were named to the all-time team and were honored in a ceremony held at the years final IROC race weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The all-time IROC team represents the three main racing disciplines open-wheel, stock car and road racing. Andretti (open-wheel), Earnhardt (stock car) and Pruett (road racing) garnered the most fan votes to win their respective categories, while Kinser (open-wheel) earned the fans wild card selection by amassing the most votes among all categories outside of the three winners. Nearly a quarter-million votes were cast during the five-month voting period.

Dale Jarrett's Car
Lyrics by Tim Wilson and Danny Simpson
(Spoken) Nascar fans in here at all?.... Who's got the ugliest car in Nascar? Dale Jarrett? You oughta know sir, you work for UPS. Dale Jarrett has the nastiest looking car in Nascar.
Name me three things uglier than Dale Jarrett's car
Keith Richards nekkid -- that's close but no cigar
The Elephant Man in bowling shoes with a chili vomit stain
Or french-kissing that poor woman from "Throw Momma From the Train"
Name me three things uglier than Dale Jarrett's car
Lyle Lovett nekkid, dancing in a leather bar
Richard Petty nekkid without his glasses or his hat
George Jones nekkid -- now what's wores than that?
Name me three things uglier than Dale Jarrett's ford
Tony Siragusa in a jock strap, bouncin' on a diving board
(Spoken) Y'all know Tony Siragusa? Defensive line for the Baltimore Ravens... He makes a chin strap look nasty, I'm telling you... he's so big and...
Getting caught without an umbrella in the middle of a $#!+ storm
But at least it's the same color as a UPS uniform!
