My ex-supervisor is expecting a baby boy at the end of January 2006. I'm thinking of making this my stitching project for the New Year's bowl game season:

This baby is verrrrrrrrrrrrry wanted (his Mom and Dad tried for a very long time to bring him here), so it will be a joy to stitch this for them and him.
My sister (who should be a member of the VRWKNC but isn't yet a Freeper) crocheted me a Martha Stewart poncho in a gorgeous variegated yarn--every fall color in the book. I'm getting it out of the sweater box this weekend.
Oh how pretty....can you share the instructions?
Darn! I'm going to have to frog out the toe I was using on these baby socks. Makes the sock too big. Was doing a round toe, but I made the sock body a little long, so I will switch to a wedge with a drawstring closure.
For those who are not initiated, to frog means to rip out your knitting for a bit, cause it goes rip it, rip it, rip it as you pull the threads.
To take out one stitch at a time is to tink (that's the word knit backwards!)
This is way too far along to tink...about 15 rounds too far. Sigh.
That is such a sweet thing!
They will treasure it. Once, when my best girlfriend had just had a baby, we were over at her house playing with our needlework. I made up a little patch that said "Libra Baby" (cause her son was born in October) for her. When she passed away far too young at the age of 42, I found both the patch and the baby afghan I had made for her tucked away as personal treasures. Finding them made me sad, but made me glad I had done it.
