Who does he think he is, Jerry Lee Lewis?
Ok?
Thanks for opening up and sharing this priceless bit of history, Mike.
Once, in a crowd, my sister touched Peter Torque's hair...
Didn't the other three Monkees notice that he wasn't on stage?
The rest of you who bothered to read this and are going to comment appropriately may now resume your normal activities.
He refuses to perform with them. He is a bit of a jerk.
Sweet Young Thing
By Gerry Goffin, Carole King and Michael Nesmith
Know that something very strange
Is happening to my brain.
I'm either feeling very good
Or else I am insane.
The seeds of doubt you planted
Have started to grow wild
But feel that I must yield before
The wisdom of a child
And it's love you bring,
No that I can't deny,
With your wings,
I can learn to fly,
Sweet young thing.
People try to talk to me
Their words are ugly sounds
But I resist all their attempts
To try and bring me down.
Turned on to the sunset,
Like I've never done before.
And I listen for your footsteps
And your know upon the door.
And it's love you bring,
With dreams of bluer skies
All these things,
When I seem them in your eyes
Sweet young thing.
I've got one word for him. Wait, is "jailbait" one word, or two?
Okay, now I know why I don't read some things. Thanks for ruining my Monkee memories. I hope you're happy with yourself.
Sooo...
...he went as Michael Moore?
OK.
Strange article to post, but for the record, I had the biggest crush on Mickey Dolenz.
Oh, it gets better:
Saturday's Child
by The Monkees
Monday had a sad child
Always feeling low down,
Tuesday had a dream child
She's always on the go
So I'm in love with Saturday's child
Every time you take her out at night
(She drives me wild)
You want to kiss and hold her way up tight
(Gonna spend my time)
You can tell the future's looking bright
(Making sure that Saturday's child is mine)
If you love a Wednesday
You live your life apart now
And if you love a Thursday
She's gonna break your heart,
So I'm in love with Saturday's Child
Every time you hold her close you'll see
(She drives me wild)
You can feel the thrill that's gonna be
(Gonna spend my time)
Now the future has a guarantee
(Making sure that Saturday's child is mine)
Seven days of the week made to choose from
But only one is right for me
I know that Saturday's got what it takes, babe.
I can tell by the way she looks at me.
Friday likes the good life
She'll take you for a ride now
And Sunday makes a good wife
She wants to be your bride
So I'm in love with Saturday's child
"There's a certain age at which young women blossom; they have a puppy quality about them, very fetching. She was right at that age"
She has always looked like a 14 yr old boy.
Me, too!!!
Only I caught them the second time around - during their 20th anniversary revival. :)
i thought nesmish was married?
Michael Nesmith ain't
Tina Louise! He went back
and did some live shows!
----------------------------------------------------------
"... In 1977, Nesmith furthered his efforts in the field of music video by creating a TV chart show called Popclips. When Warner bought the idea from him several years later, the company then developed it into MTV. [!] A stop-gap live album (Live at the Palais) appeared in 1978, while Infinite Rider on the Big Dogma, Nesmith's last solo album for 13 years, was released the following year. During the '80s, Pacific Arts became the most important video publishing company in America, and Nesmith moved into film and TV production as well, winning the first video Grammy award in 1981 for Elephant Parts. He returned to the music business in 1989, appearing with the Monkees once on stage during their reunion tour. Nesmith also released a compilation of rare solo tracks called The Newer Stuff for England's Awareness Records. Rhino Records followed two years later with the best of his early-'70s material, The Older Stuff. In 1992, Nesmith released his first album of new material in 13 years, ...Tropical Campfires... Four years later, he reunited with the Monkees again to record Justus, the first Monkees album since 1968 to feature all four original members." John Bush, All Music Guide
