Just to let you know, I had the exact same thing happen. It affected the sites you listed, too. An unplug/replug did the trick.

FYI: The router gave you an improper IP address for your DNS (Domain Name System) servers. Basically, this servers translates your "www.google.com" request into "216.239.57.99", which is google's IP address so the computer can go to it (computers like numbers more then names). Next time you have the problem in you expressed in your post, type in the IP address above in the address bar. If you go to "Google" it is a DNS problem.
My guess is that the problem you explained is a domain resolution problem, it just happened to be caused by your router handing out the wrong or no DNS IP addresses to your computer.

I got mine on Ebay, so I really dont know how old it is. I do have to reset it almost once a week to get it to work with my wireless card and laptop though, so I guess it will always be tempermental until I pry my wallet open to buy a new one
