congratulations on baby. There is a special scent about them (except when you have to change them). Just didn't want you to end up in jail like that guy who tickled baby's belly . We have to be politically correct.

LOL! Why is it that I think of all the wonderful things about a new baby and hubby thinks about the sleepless nights and nappy changing! : D

I love the smell of pine, and I love snow!!!!!!!
How about this one, the smell of a little baby right after it's bath, sleeping on your shoulder. AWWWW!
To: pissant
1. Burning leaves in the fall
2. a slightly used baseball
3. mesquite bushes after a desert rain
4. red, red roses
5. the smell of fresh sex...yes it has a "smell"; it's the only reason I close my eyes - sometimes!
6. the coal smoke of a steam engine
7. machine oil
8. Mown grass - right after mowing (sorry - a repeat!)
9. My lingerie drawer!
and
10. a defeated "dimocrat" (kinda like napalm in the morning - but more satisfying!)

Why is it that I think of all the wonderful things about a new baby and hubby thinks about the sleepless nights and nappy changing! : D The labor process brings about a selective amnesia. ;-)

woodsmoke on a flannel shirt
a freshly opened can of coffee
my husband's Tabac aftershave
gun-cleaning fluid
sheets fresh off the clothesline
fresh baked bread
the inside of a cedar chest
the inside of a cow barn after milking (not a big commercial enterprise, but one on a mom & pop farm. I know - sounds weird but brings back memories)

As fresh cut as you can get at home depot. I love the smell of frames going up.
To: pissant
My husband would agree with your list except he has no sense of smell. I used to think it was funny until I smelled smoke one evening and he couldn't.

Absolutely! My third daughter was born on June 9th and the Russian Olives outside the hospital were in full bloom. The smell always reminds be of her birthday!

I believe you open yourself to criticism insofaras you discrimminate against a set of olefactory stimuli which are deemed not pleasant. Much more fun could be had by asking the freepers to collate those sensations. We could borrow the thread title from Jeff Foxworthy.
