Yesterday, I posted an article from The Eagle about this person being arrested. This morning, I noticed an update w/ pic - just in case anyone is interested....

To tell you the truth, I'm generally more comfortable showering with women, myself.

When I saw the article, I immediately began calling people. I just wanted to help. I have never met Arpollo before this afternoon. I'm not African-American and I'm not transgendered, but Arpollo is my sister

Correction, "Arpollo" is your brother. Just because someone tells you something is is blatantly absurd doesn't make it true.

Obviously, this Arpollo fellow has enough parts to alert those females in the shower, so possibly the cousin is in the same condition? I dunno.

There is a perfectly good pronoun to use, "it."

Trangendered means these males have new sex organs instead of their old ones.

Tranvestite/crossdressing means they simply dress like a woman, but haven't had their plumbing realigned.

Arpollo Vicks, who was born male but lives as a woman, was arrested Sunday by Texas A&M University Police for criminal trespassing after she exited a women's shower facility at Reed Arena. Vicks, 20, had been staying at the shelter with other evacuees bused in from New Orleans.

Now I understand the problem. If it had used the women's showers at the Univeristy of Texas, there would have been no problem.

yeah, I am quite aware of the definition of transgender vs. transvestite.
I just dont know if the term is accurate in this instance - obviously Arpollo calls himself a transgender. But something is lacking or still in place that Arpollo refuses to accept?

Actually, the dictionary definition is

"Appearing as, wishing to be considered as, or having undergone surgery to become a member the opposite sex."

All you have to do to be considered 'transgendered' is tell people that you want to be thought of as a woman. I bet this man and his little cousin both have all their original parts. Can you imagine taking your daughter into the bathroom so she can shower and coming across this? Yuck.
