If I did, I would be haunted for the rest of my life.
My dog is part of my family and would not be left behind!
I don't think I could leave my Jack Russell either...
Nope. They'd all come with me.
My husband and I discussed this. We have four dogs. He said he'd either stay home, or we'd all live in the car. I'm going to make up Bug-out-Bags for us AND the dogs. Have no idea what we'd do in winter.
If I left my pet I would have to leave my wife and kids also.
No, I would not leave my pets. However, PETA should have arranged transportation for those who DID have pets. I thought they were supposed to be the champions of the animal world? Seems they failed miserable too.
Our evac plans include the Ferocious Feline Bebop Trio and the Dread Boston Salty.
And after a heated conversation with my younger sister, our evac plans now include a trip 40 miles out of the way to get her dog and cat too.
No. Last hurricane, we evacuated with five cats in five carriers but we stayed with family.
I'd never forgive myself. They are family.
If it were a matter of another family member vs a pet, I would go...but click on my screen name, and you'll see why we would never leave our dogs. We just couldn't.
I would not leave my two cats behind.
I would ditch my cat without hesitation.
I'd try to leave some food, which probably wouldn't be good very long, and then it'd have to fend for itself, but that's it.
NO! My husband and I have discussed this many times this past week. We have 4 dogs and they are our "children". We would not leave them.
If it meant losing a child or loved one over a pet?
Thanks, Rover. I'll speak highly of you in the presence of others.

No.
My pet is a 23+ yo cat who would not survive. I will die before I let anything happen to her.
It depends on the gravity of the emergency. But if I believed that caring for my pet would mean less food or water for human refugees, then I would have to choose the humans (possibly myself and my family) over my pet, yes.
No, I couldn't leave my girls behind. I would never be able to forgive myself for leaving them.
If I had to leave The cats ARE coming with me. I try to take the fish too.
