I saw the special a few months ago.
Very good and interesting.
After watching it, I downloaded my Southern Rock favorites, including Allmans, Skynard, Marshall Tucker, Blackfoot.

Is 38 Special a southern rock band? Yep. One of the Van Zant boys was front man. Two of the Van Zant's are getting a lot of play time on country stations now.

Molly Hatchet is more 2nd wave Southern Rock than being in the charter club. Their first hit was a remake of the Allman's "dreams".
