Well we finally have some things we agree on, especially the 'lawyers and a crybaby society run by women obsessed with their children'! It's so true, and there is incredible overkill on all sorts of 'safety-related' issues. The lawyers drive the train, of course, threatening to sue anyone for anything, regardless of how absurd the claim, and women become even more hysterical about 'protecting' their kids, every time one of these lawsuits comes up. It's a mess. Regarding steroids, I think there is room for the World Wrestling Federation as well as Major League Baseball. But I think as a society, we lose out if every sporting event devolves into a mirror-image of the WWF.

Lefty was pretty much a one-pitch pitcher. Not many could get around on his fastball. He just needed to change speeds once in a while and that was that.

P.S. I preferred playing LF behind him a LOT MORE than swinging against him after my prime!

Yeah, what's interesting is that some people's chemistry/physiology reacts well (or let's say 'better') to steroids/HGH and they don't seem to break down as quickly, over time. Others, they get their immediate positive impact from the drug, and then the wheels come off and they fall apart physically. Regarding Clemens, who knows? But if he was/is on HGH, they can't test for that because you need a blood test (heretofore not allowed under baseball's current testing program, which is comical) so he and others could get away with using it. Frankly, HGH is one of the drugs of choice in baseball, and as you said, there are always the latest generation of designer steroids that create the constant cat and mouse game between the athletes and the governing bodies.
