Hey, Tom, welcome aboard!
Do you have snow yet, Patton? A little early, don't you think?
First thing I thought when I got off of the airplane yesterday...WHO LEFT THE SWAMP COOLER ON????!!!!
You, TOM! always reminds me of twain.
My prayers are with you. We went through this last spring. It was awful.
Actually - I think I have gassed it up, exactly once this summer. How odd.
See, on mondays I take a cab to the airport, on fridays, I take a cab home...somtimes I drive to the 7-11 for smokes, and...well, that's pretty much it.
Which is why I was TICKED OFF that my liberal brother used all my gas.
the foliage in CO was lovely, it doesn't have the brutal heat to contend with and everything looks fresh and perky. the planters were just full of gorgeous combinations of things. i really loved it there. i never got tired of looking at the mts. But i could never live there bc i would not want to be there in winter. 2 weeks in summer would be ideal.
welcome, oh ye relative of slippy!
It's ok Patton, I never believe you so between Gabz and I, it evens out.
In Newfoundland the rear view mirrors read: "Objects in mirror are behind you" :^)
Heinlein said the most artful way to lie was to tell the absolute truth - but in such a way, no one believes it.
oh i believe him. i just discount by about 80% to compensate for the BS factor : )
I drive barefooted too - had a hell of a time in PA when it snowed - I still had to pull my snowboots off -
why yunz hillbillies! i was raised to think something terrible would happen if i drove barefoot i guess, bc i have never done it.
coolbreeze called me a little while ago to tell me he is going to be late egtting home from work because of the T'storms knocking out power all over the MD eastern shore. He was in Food Lion over on Kent Island fixing a register when it took a near direct hit and wiped out the self serve register....he said the woman at the machine actually screamed, because she had already scanned nearly a full shopping cart of groceries. From there he had to go to the Holiday Inn, because their server took a hit and then he has to head for one of the TV stations in Salisbury because they took a hit.
I hear you about the weeds.........coolbreeze actually has taken a machete to them.
Even not knowing where all your perennials will come up shouldn't preclude you from using some of the stuff I used this year...........in fact it gives specific instructions on the package for us in existing perennial gardens. I don't remember the name of this stuff, but we got it in WalMart. I think it was $13 for a 3foot by 20foot roll and it is more of a fabric type stuff than a plastic, and has a 10 lifespan to it (so it claims). You start laying it down, and then cut x's in it to go over the existing plants.
Once I've got shade on the kitchen side of the house, about 3:30, I'm going to limp my way out to attack the weeds in the herb garde, and tackle my humongous crop of basil :)
Discount away - that is the point. LOL.
i will talk to my guy about that next year when he comes to do the mulch, would you put it before or after the mulch?
I buy a liquid product called Spectracide - it kills pretty much within 12 hours - I spray big weeds then pull them up easily - great for grass growing in cracks of the sidewalk or patio, that sort of thing - there is even a battery sprayer attached to the container so I can spray a larger area without causing my hand to go into cramps!
That always seemed so cool - food from the front yard. ;)
When coolbreeze came in from the store yesterday he was shocked at how the price of gas had jumped 10cents a gallon since Wednesday.........
