isn't where they keep land tortoises under a glass bowl? I think it is regarding a private observatory, but you'll have to check with argh.

I'm probably all alone here, but it is only 63 outside after the rain, so the A/C is off and all the windows open with a northeast wind. I heard music, so I went out on the deck to see what neighbor was having a party-then I realized that I was hearing a band playing at one of the marinas on the other side of the lake and to the east-that's over three miles away downriver-it is a rather good band, too-they are playing "Satisfaction" now, and they were playing "Mustang Sally" earlier. I'll have to find out if they play at one of the marinas on this side of the water-we don't like to drive to the other side of the lake at night because the main road to the water in the next county is called "suicide road" with good reason-one lane, steep and scary...

the rodeo was a lot of fun, but boy did xsteen and i look out of place, as we picked our way through the manure on the fairgrounds. it was in EAGLE, CO, site of the kobe incident. i imagined SG and whyisa ROR'ing at us, as we were dressed inappropriately and we were trying to breathe through our mouths so as not to smell the livestock smells... and every once in awhile we would gasp when we got a big whiff!
the coolest thing was the teeny kids riding the sheep, in an event called MUTTON BUSTING. it was just adorable, those kids had to have been no more than 5-6 years old and they came out hanging on the backs of these sheep for dear life.
we leave CO for VA today, we won't get in til late though.

I went to my first rodeo when I was about 13 - and even this city-clicker ffrom NYC knew sandals were NOT worn to the rodeo :)
heck wearing sandals around any type of livestock is just plain silly (and inappropriate)
