I thought the first season of Galactica was very good and the best SF tv show since Babylon 5 (Season 1-4 is my alltime fave SF tv show, very closely followed by Star Trek TOS).

This season has been tedious, slow, and not very compelling at all. I hear that there will only be ten episodes in this batch and if they really expect to leave Starbuck on Caprica with that goofball, chatting over music, for most of the season they are out of their minds.

Like I said, for me the 'shine' is off BSG. They can turn it around, though. I remain a viewer, for now.

PS - Be sure to watch the Eureka pilot! ;-)

Isn't Comcast a private company?

A private company with local/regional monopolies, a cushy little benefit that most private companies would no doubt love, but don't have.

They put the Military Channel on digital. With the DVR box, my wife is always complaining because I have filled the memory of it with, FIREPOWER, and BATTLEFIELD TACTICS. Oh, and Fox News' War Stories.

They also moved the Game Show Network to digital. Win Ben Stein's Money and Street Smarts reruns are on there.

I bet they won't dare move BET(Barely Even Television) to digital.

Gee, I guess I'll just have to keep on not watching it to save money.

The Battlestar Pegasus is coming in episode 10 and I think there are more than 10 episodes.

Not really. They function like a 'private' utility company -- i.e., granted monopoly status with no competition.

The price I was paying for regular cable with 3 premium channels kept going up, 70, 75, 80/month. I decided to go with a dish, but switched to comcast digital cable. Now I have 150 channels, about 15 commercial free channels, including nicktoons, and 6 encore movie channels for 50 per month. I dropped the 3 premium movie channels, but I can still get them, because according to their own rules, when you switch to digital cable, you get one digital cable converter for your main tv, plus the analog cable service you had before the switch on your secondary tvs.

There are more than ten episodes this season, I just said that there were 10 in this batch of new episodes - had heard that there would be a first batch of ten, and then a hiatus in the middle of the season, and then a few more in (or after) January.

I may have heard wrong or misheard. But that was what I was trying to say. Sorry for the confusion.

$50 a month? I'm paying Comcast that much just for basic cable.

Thanks for the report.
I'll still have to rent it when
the DVD's out . . .

Sometimes they put in
gratuitous nudity
SciFi cannot show . . .

SG1 has finally jumped the shark.

They have now tried to make a "religious" war theme to replace the now defeated old bad guys.

The again it seems it is not SciFi as much as the horror movie chanel on some days.

Like FNC, they are where they are because there is no competition.

Ohh, I love my direcTV - especially now that I have it with Tivo. We've had it for years and have only had trouble once during a wind storm. But it was only for a few minutes and then all was well. My in-laws have Comcast and their cable went out for a couple of days last week. Stuff happens with both cable and satellite. But I pay around $20 less a month for satellite service than I did for cable and I get MORE.

When Verizon comes onto the scene prices wont be much better. Comcast is going through ADS roll outs bringing all channels digital so it was only a matter of time. I would like to see what they do to basic service when all service is digital anyway.
And DVR rocks as does HD I dont mind paying extra for it.

FIOS will be amazing to watch. It will do to Broadband what broadband did to dialup.

Can you say "Dish Network?" Better service, lower price, and Sci-Fi channel on basic service.
