When your grandchildren are a bunch of drug mutant retards I'll be playing with my beautiful holistically birthed, gently breastfed, and naturally fed and non-drugged, beautifully nurtured grandchildren. Enjoy your future moron, you'll have to tie your grandchildren up with a straight jacket in order to "enjoy" grandparenting them.

Hmmm...not exactly "debate" is it? It takes a special kind of dumbass to call children, "drug mutant retards" and "morons". With such caring and compassionate talk I pray your family is never touched by disability.

Get out your little oils and munch on your leaves and see if they cure your attitude problem.

Maybe what Jenny needs is some St. John's Wort (being the all-natural sorta gal that she is) to curb that hostility, or barring that: a healthy dose of Xanax will straighten her right out.

She was pulling for Tom Cruise she says?

I have no doubt that she was jumping up and down on the couch just like Tom. LMAO!

Nor is posting to snopes or quackwatch. They are both sites that have been set up as internet sources for those shilling for big pharma.

It's hard to take what you say seriously when you say things like this. This reminds me of the woman I debated for almost an hour regarding animal nutrition because she wanted to feed her cats and dog a low-fat vegan diet. Any attempts to point out that this was guaranteed to make her pets malnourished was "refuted" by her saying that meat and fats are inherently unhealthy to all creatures and that scientists, veterinarians, and others knowledgeable about animal husbandry who disagree are all in the pay of pet-food corporations. Then she scolded us for being close-minded!

"If you're right about this--and I still don't think it's true--I'll come right back here and apologize, I promise."

No apologies needed big B. I am not an I told you so type of person. I just want to have a nice friendly chat about what just happened in Rome, but some of you Freepers are just so dang cock sure that nothing is going on, I guess we don't have too much to chat about.

But...if I am right, just know that in my natural healing evolution, I went from Vitamins, to using herbals to using whole foods to get my vitamins. I know how to cook in order to gently pull the nutrients from our food, and just in case any of you were interested, whole flax seeds boiled in water for about twenty minutes pulls the flax oil into the water, and then if you cook oatmeal or any hot cereal in that water, it is chock full of essential fatty acids, and all the good things whole grains have to offer.

And yes, I use essential oils, they flow like water at our house, and again, these will not be regulated by the Codex as they are catagorized as skin care and not ingestible foods.

See, I have studied natural healing and nutrition for many years and have learned how to be well and create healthy bodies for my children without the help of doctors. And in my part time home business, I teach mother's how to do likewise. Not too many mothers are interested at this point, but if I ever make a profit at what I do in my spare time, you will be the first to know.

"I was cheering for Tom if you had to guess..

Tom Cruise has obviously done his homework. His position is backed up by a variety of professions as well as his religion.

Did you know the FDA agrees with Tom? They just posted information on anti-depressants three days ago. Oh wait, that didn't make the news, or Free Republic. Here is the link if you want to check it out....Does Scientology control our FDA??

http://www.fda.gov/cder/drug/advisory/SSRI200507.htm

FDA Public Health Advisory
Suicidality in Adults Being Treated with Antidepressant Medications

Several recent scientific publications suggest the possibility of an increased risk for suicidal behavior in adults who are being treated with antidepressant medications. Even before these reports became available, the FDA began a complete review of all available data to determine whether there is an increased risk of suicidality (suicidal thinking or behavior) in adults being treated with antidepressant medications. It is expected that this review will take a year or longer to complete."

And in response the number one expert, researcher, and writer on the topic of anti-depressants had this to say in response to this move by the FDA...

THE INTERNATIONAL COALITION FOR DRUG AWARENESS
www.drugawarness.org

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

DOES FDA ADVISORY WARNING ON
ANTIDEPRESSANTS GO FAR ENOUGH?

Friday, July 1, 2005, the FDA issued strong warnings about the dangers of
antidepressants and increased risk of suicide. But we need to ask if their
warning has gone quite far enough and how many have needlessly lost their lives to
these drug in the interim due to the lack of any warning?

By way of introduction I am Ann Blake Tracy, PhD, Executive Director of the
International Coalition for Drug Awareness. I am the author of Prozac: Panacea
or Pandora? - Our Serotonin Nightmare. The last 15 years of my life have been
devoted full time to researching and writing about SSRI antidepressants. For
13 1/2 years I have testified and consulted as an expert witness in cases
involving antidepressants. Some of the more high profile cases being: comedian
Phil Hartman's murder/suicide, Columbine, Red Lake and other school shootings,
the Atlanta Day Trader shooting and many other workplace violence incidents in
which antidepressants were involved. In September of 1991 and again in February
and September of 2004 I testified before the FDA Advisory Committee on this
issue.

The simple fact is that when LSD goes into the brain it mimics the
neurotransmitter, serotonin. Antidepressants work by impairing one's ability to
metabolize serotonin so that over time the level of serotonin begins to rise. So why
are we surprised when we see those on antidepressants doing things we would
expect to see from someone on LSD?

For many decades now medical research has shown that impairing serotonin
metabolism will produce migraines, hot flashes, pains around the heart, difficulty
breathing, a worsening of bronchial complaints, tension and anxiety which
appear from out of nowhere, depression, suicide - especially very violent
suicide, hostility, violent crime, arson, substance abuse, psychosis, mania, organic
brain disease, autism, anorexia, reckless driving, Alzheimer’s, impulsive
behavior with no concern for punishment, and argumentative behavior.

How anyone ever thought it would be "therapeutic" to chemically induce these
reactions is beyond me. Yet, these reactions are exactly what we have
witnessed in our society over the past two decades as a result of the widespread use
of these drugs. Why does the FDA expect us to wait until "more definitive
information" than what we already have "becomes available?"

Can you remember when over two decades ago depressed people used to slip away
quietly to kill themselves rather than killing everyone around them and then
themselves as they do while taking SSRI antidepressants?

A study out of the University of Southern California in 1996 looked at a
group of mutant mice in an experiment that had gone terribly wrong. These
genetically engineered mice were the most violent creatures they had ever witnessed.
They were born lacking the MAO-A enzyme which metabolizes serotonin. As a
result their brains were awash in serotonin. This excess serotonin is what the
researchers determined was the cause for this extreme violence. Antidepressants
produce the same end result as they inhibit the metabolism of serotonin.

These are extremely dangerous drugs that should be banned as similar drugs
have been banned in the past. They should be placed in the same classification
as PCP, a dissociative anesthetic.

As a society we once thought LSD and PCP to be miracle medications with large
margins of safety in humans. We have never seen drugs so similar to LSD and
PCP as these SSRI antidepressants. All of these drugs produce dreaming during
periods of wakefulness. It is believed that the high serotonin levels over
stimulate the brain stem leading to a lack of muscle paralysis during the sleep
state thus allowing the patient to act out the dreams or nightmares they are
having. The world witnessed that clearly in the Zoloft-induced murder-suicide of
comedian Phil Hartman and his wife, Brynn. (And for those who may not be
aware, the wrongful death suit for their parents was settled by Pfizer on behalf of
Sean and Birgen Hartman.)

Connecticut witnessed the Prozac-induced case of Kelly Silk several years
ago. This young mother attacked her family with a knife, then set the house on
fire killing all but her 8 year old daughter who ran to the neighbors. As she
stood bleeding and screaming for help she explained, "Help! My mommy is having a
nightmare!"

Out of the mouths of babes we will understand these nightmares for what they
are. She understood that this was something her mother would do ONLY in a
nightmare, never in reality.

This is known as a REM Sleep Behavior Disorder. In the past it was known
mainly as a drug withdrawal state, but the largest sleep facility in the country
has reported that 86% of the cases they are diagnosing are patients currently
taking antidepressants.

Because this was known in the past as a condition manifesting mainly in drug
withdrawal you can see how dangerous the withdrawal state from these drugs
will prove to be. That is why it is so critical to make sure patients are weaned
EXTREMELY slowly so as to avoid ANY chance of going into a withdrawal state.

For additional information go to www.drugawareness.org where you can find a
wealth of information.

End . . .

Find below, for your information, the FDA testimony of Mark Taylor, the first
boy shot at Columbine, given in September, 2004.
_________________

Mark Taylor's September 13, 2004 to the FDA (first boy shot at Columbine High
School)

I am Mark Allen Taylor and I am a victim of the SSRI antidepressant era. I
took six to thirteen bullets in the heart area in the Columbine High School
shooting when Eric Harris on Luvox opened fire that now infamous day.

They almost had to amputate my leg and my arm. My heart missed by only one
millimeter. I had three surgeries. Five years later I am still recuperating.

I went through all this to realize that SSRI antidepressants are dangerous
for those who take them and for all those who associate with those who take
them.

I hope that my testimony today shows you that you need to take action
immediately before more innocent people like me, and you, do not get hurt or die
horrible deaths as a result.

As Americans we should have the right to feel safe and if you were doing your
job we would be safe. Why are we worrying about terrorists in other countries
when the pharmaceutical companies have proven to be our biggest terrorists by
releasing these drugs on an unsuspecting public?

How are we supposed to feel safe at school, at home, on the street, at church
or anywhere else if we cannot trust the FDA to do what we are paying you to
do? Where were you when I and all of my classmates got shot at Columbine?

You say that antidepressants are effective. So why did they not help Eric
Harris before he shot me?

According to Eric they "helped" him to feel homicidal and suicidal after only
six weeks on Zoloft. And then he said that dropping off Luvox cold turkey
would help him "fuel the rage" he needed to shoot everyone. But he continued on
Luvox and shot us all anyway.

So, why did these so called antidepressants not make him better? I will tell
you why. It is because they do not work.

We should consider antidepressants to be accomplices to murder."

Attitude problem??? You dont' think big pharma has hell to pay for all the death and disability they have caused over the years? Have you heard of Thalidomide? Had to be pulled by congress before they stopped peddling it to pregnant women. Prozac is going to be the same deal...

http://www.newstarget.com/004498.html

Do you have any idea how many pregnant women are taking anti-depressants right now??? It feels like just about everyone I know is taking them without any awareness of the impact on the baby. Sure, I get emotional, thinking about all those babies whose brains are being permanently damaged by these toxic drugs.

And if we allow the pharma companies to call all the shots, what we will indeed have in the not so distant future is in fact a bunch of drug mutant retards as witness to this diabolical scheme.

Can I find inflammatory words big enough to cover my disgust? my rage? my feelings of hopelessness as times as I talk to the young mother's in my neighborhood and life? No, I just do what I know is best for my own kids and try to influence anyone who is interested in doing something different.

As I said, not to many women are interested at this point. But perhaps when the autism rate hits 50%, and we in fact have to tie up our babies while they go through drug withdrawal, perhaps then society will say "you know? something seems off in our world. How come so many kids are total nut jobs right now? hmmmmmm

With my last two babies I did all my own prenatal care, focused exclusively on nutrition and exercise during pregnancy, took no drugs, not even as asperin, and gave birth completely drug free at home, and guess what???

Two healthy boys - one eleven pound, one nine pounds. Glowing with health and wellness, a delight to be around, and the joy of just about everyone who gets to associate with them.

Accident? Genes? No. Just common sense. Nobody ever built a healthy baby on drugs. But momma doesn't want to feel guilty about her dope habit. doesn't want to work to give birth. Just numb me out and cut my baby away. I believe we are on the cusp of a harvest of drug mutant retards in our society. Know why? because the law of the harvest is in fact MOST in play when mothers and babies are the topic.

Momma, you reap what you sow. If you build your babies with junk food and drugs, you are going to get a junkie baby filled up with drugs.

This is not me being mean, or not caring or not compassionate.... it is just the facts.

No, I'm a mormon, but if I was not LDS, I would probably join the scientologists, and I am right with them in spirit in terms of psychiatric drugs, I think they are some of the most brave people on the planet right now.

I experienced a Psychosis after the birth of my first baby, I believe mostly from sleep deprivation, and was forced to take psyche meds for fourteen months from a court order. This was in 1989 and in the time since I have done a ton of research on Psychiatry and how they got so powerful.

It is not a pretty story, but one that I feel passionate about exposing.

"It's hard to take what you say seriously when you say things like this. "

You don't have to take me seriously, it's obvious you and most here don't anyway. All I am saying is that in these drug company debates everyone always points to quackwatch and snopes and says "see, you dumb person" see what is in print on the web that refutes what you say?

All I'm saying is use some other sources for your debates. Here is a piece on the quack who started quackwatch....it is illuminating...

http://www.quackpotwatch.org/

You have to click on "who are the quackbusters", and then "who is stepehn Barrett"? in order to get to this link. But here is a clip...

"Quackbusting" - is a Profitable Business...

Frankly, "quackbusting" is a profitable industry, and Stephen Barrett plays it to the hilt.

In a Canadian lawsuit (see below) Barrett admitted to the following:

"The sole purpose of the activities of Barrett & Baratz are to discredit and cause damage and harm to health care practitioners, businesses that make alternative health therapies or products available, and advocates of non-allopathic therapies and health freedom."

Stephen Barrett testifies for money. He claims he's an "expert" in virtually everything. Those "expert witness" fees seem to be a significant part of Barrett's existence.

In a California Court case, former Barrett peer, and fellow Board Member of the National Council Against Health Fraud (NCAHF), William Jarvis PhD, testified, under oath, that Stephen Barrett and Robert Baratz conspired to use the NCAHF, without Board permission, as a Plaintiff in over 40 cases in California, where Barrett and Baratz were to testify as "expert witnesses," and get expert witness fees. The NCAHF Board was never consulted.

However, sometimes their plans fail.

One of those cases caused the NCAHF to be saddled with over $100,000 in legal fees awarded their victim - and the NCAHF doesn't have the money to pay that debt. In fact, the NCAHF is SO DESPERATE for funds it is being run out of a cardboard box in the back room of Robert Baratz's Braintree, Massachusetts hair removal and ear piercing salon.

Those type of cases Barrett involved the NCAHF in were considered so heinous that the people of California just passed an initiative (Proposition #64) banning this kind of lawsuit for all time.

Barrett's claim to be a Consumer Advocate is an insult to American consumers.

Organized Stupidity is the Hallmark of the Quackbuster Conspiracy...

Barrett, and his vacuous minions, like to spout off other stupid "rules" that they think should apply to health care - the application of which, has to make the scientific community shudder.

One of the other totally BRAINLESS statements Barrett, and his parrotts, like to to screech out is "It hasn't been double-blind studied!!"

The "double-blind study" is one of about 45 different kinds of scientific studies used, and approved for use, within the scientific community. It was designed for, and is usually restricted to, testing new dangerous drugs for the claims drug companies wish to make about their new laboratory produced products. Generally, in this type of study, you give half of the group the new pill, and the other half gets a sugar pill that looks just like the original. This type of study simply does not apply to new research. Never has, never will.

And worse, the "double-blind study" is considered to be heinous, and was banned by world government during the Helsinki Accord in 1964.

There's a lot more...

Barrett's Funding - TOP SECRET...

Barrett was cornered in a Federal case in the State of Oregon not long ago, and asked about his income. He testified that over the past two years he made a TOTAL of $54,000.

How then does he afford to carry on fourteen (14) separate legal actions at one time?

If each legal action cost him $100,000, that would come to 1.4 million dollars ($1,400,000).

How do you squeeze 1.4 million out of a $54,000 total income?

Good question...

Stephen Barrett - Professional Crackpot...
The Internet needs health information it can trust. Stephen Barrett doesn't provide it...

Barrett is one of those people whose ambitions and opinions of himself far exceeds his abilities. Without ANY qualifications he has set himself up as an expert in just about everything having to do with health care - and more.

And this from a man who is a professional failure.

Records show that Barrett never achieved any success in the medical profession. His claim to being a "retired Psychiatrist" is laughable. He is, in fact, a "failed Psychiatrist," and a "failed MD."

The Psychiatric profession rejected Barrett years ago, for Barrett could NOT pass the examinations necessary to become "Board Certified." Which, is no doubt why Barrett was, throughout his career, relegated to lower level "part time" positions.

Barrett, we know, was forced to give up his medical license in Pennsylvania in 1993 when his "part-time" employment at the State Mental Hospital was terminated, and he had so few (nine) private patients during his last five years of practice, that he couldn't afford the Malpractice Insurance premiums Pennsylvania requires.

In a job market in the United States, where there is a "doctor shortage," Stephen Barrett, after his termination by the State mental Hospital, couldn't find employment. He was in his mid-50s at the time. He should have been at the top of his craft - yet, apparently, he couldn't find work.

It is obvious, that, after one humiliation after another, in 1993 Barrett simply gave up his medical aspirations, turned in his MD license, and retreated, in bitterness and frustration, to his basement.

It was in that basement, where Barrett took up "quackbusting" - which, in reality, means that Barrett attacks "cutting-edge" health professionals and paradigms - those that ARE achieving success in their segment of health care.

And there, in "quackbusting" is where Barrett finally found the attention and recognition he seems to crave - for, a while, that is, until three California Judges, in a PUBLISHED Appeals Court decision, took a HARD look at Barrett's activities, and declared him "biased, and unworthy of credibility."

Bitterness against successful health professionals is Barrett's hallmark. To him they're all "quacks." In this, his essays are repetitive and pedestrian.

Barrett, in his writings, says the same things, the same way, every time - change the victim and the subject, and still you yawn your way through his offerings. It's like he's filling out a form somebody gave him...

Take an overactive self importance, couple it with glaring failure and rejection in his chosen profession, add a cup of molten hatred for those that do succeed, pop it in the oven - and out comes Stephen Barrett - self-styled "expert in everything."

Barrett, we know, along with his website, is currently named, among other things, in a racketeering (RICO) case in Federal Court in Colorado.

He's also being sued for his nefarious activities in Ontario, Canada.

Barrett, in the Canadian case, has formally admitted, according to Canadian law, to a number of situations put to him by the Plaintiff, including:

"The sole purpose of the activities of Barrett & Baratz are to discredit and cause damage and harm to health care practitioners, businesses that make alternative health therapies or products available, and advocates of non-allopathic therapies and health freedom."

"Barrett has interfered with the civil rights of numerous Americans, in his efforts to have his critics silenced."

"Barrett has strategically orchestrated the filing of legal actions in improper jurisdictions for the purpose of frustrating the victims of such lawsuits and increasing his victims costs."

"Barrett failed the exams he was required to pass to become a Board Certified Medical Doctor."

Ahayes,

quackwatch disses just about every health professional whose books made a difference in my life. Real Psychiatrists like Petter Breggins whose book Talking back to prozac helped motivate me to get off the drug. His book Toxic Psychiatry is a must read for anyone with a loved one on psyche drugs, and his web site is a great resource for families and people taking pharmaceuticals.

http://peterbreggin.org/

We have all sorts of MD's dispensing anti-depressants right now, who have not been trained in what they do, how they react, and are not properly watching patients who are taking them.

Quackwatch also disses several healing modalities I have used with great success, and the list of quack doctors are many of those whose books I read and used to get well.

Nope, I want your deal in blood, hand written by you, sent express mail, and then I will burn it over the body of a dead cat in the light of the full moon while I harvest red raspberry leaves to make tea for my next pregnancy.

You have to quote bibbidi bobbidi boo while you write this deal with the blood dripping from your fingers...

Look you joker, the government doesn't have one speck of respectability in this matter, they are bought and paid for by the very people you are protecting with your words.

Just quit the joking and wait and see, OK? Fact is the vitamin gestapo is alive and well...

Check out what happened over the past two years in Australia...

http://www.quackpotwatch.org/opinionpieces/codex-sickness.htm

"The CODEX They Tell You Isn’t Real

The public constantly sends me information asking me to comment on it. Recently a flurry of official information updates have landed on my desk from the Complementary Healthcare Council (CHC). The updates have been so widely disseminated to groups and individuals that I thought there must be someone on round the clock duty. Interestingly I have seen almost identical information originating from trade and front organizations in other countries.

In essence, the official CHC “tech update” alleges: CODEX is only about food and not about supplements. The public is being ill informed about CODEX and confused by persons on the internet with “alarmist views” who “do not fully understand how Codex works”. It says the only Codex representative Australia has is from the fisheries department and he doesn’t make decisions about supplements, (only fish). And no one in Australia is sitting on any Codex committee doing anything to do with vitamins and supplements. Only about food. Nothing about supplements… (29 ) In an extra warning in bold letters the CHC urges all members to be cautious of CODEX information from the internet and other forums, claiming it may be “inaccurate” , “alarmist” and “ill informed”.

I read the two page “article” and immediately suffered a bad case of deja`vue. It sounded so much like Raymond Khoury’s article I could have sworn it was written by one and the same person and merely recycled - possibly not surprising since both Ms. Johanson and Mr. Khoury sit on the same TGA committees.

AUSSIES Deep in CODEX

For many years now a few lucky Australians have been sent on a yearly trip to participate in the WHO CODEX committee in Europe. They are sent by their government, which officially denies Codex exists in the context of supplements. In November 2003 an Australian delegation landed in Bonn, Germany. The three day CODEX meeting was to be hosted by the Federal Republic of Germany.

Inside the stark German Government building the 25th session was being convened of the “CODEX COMMITTEE ON NUTRITION AND FOODS FOR SPECIAL DIETARY USES” by the authoritarian President and Chairman Herr Rolf Grossklaus. (There was no one from the Aussie fisheries department present in the Australian delegation.) The session was well attended by 225 delegates and advisors representing 48 member countries, including Australia and representatives from 29 organisations and trans-national corporations.

Herr Toepner from the German Federal Ministry opened the meeting with a short speech reminding the delegates of the purpose of the Codex committee; “to protect the health of consumers, to ensure ‘fair trade practices’ and the committee’s important responsibilities under the WTO”. (WTO is the global trade police ensuring trade barriers fall and local competition is leveled so that global corporations can take over national markets, in the name of “world class regulatory standards” and “fair trade practices”.)

Herr Toepner apparently stressed the same message given to the delegates at TGA/FSANZ head quarters, for they made an heroic effort to further the agenda of supplement restriction at the CODEX meeting. The CODEX committee Chairman was well pleased with their work. The funereal looking Herr Grossklaus gratefully accepted the Australian proposal to apply a “risk” analysis to nutritional supplements. The committee once again expressed its appreciation to the; “Delegation of Australia for its work in this important area and agreed that a ‘risk-based approach’ should be followed for the establishment of upper limits for nutrients,” as stated the 2003 CODEX minutes report. That meant the Committee was currently working on placing a restriction on world wide supplement consumers. The Australian delegation agreed with the Chairman that the next 2004 Codex “session should be kept informed of the progress achieved by WHO in order to facilitate its further work on vitamins and minerals.” (Author’s translation of meaning of this is in footnote 33)

Moreover, the CODEX observer from the Council for Responsible Nutrition agreed wholeheartedly - Probably much to the approval of its members Bayer, BASF, Monsanto and of course, Wyeth. (The Australian chapter of the CRN merged with Ms Johansen’s CHC in 1999)

Among the CODEX participants that year, there were at least eleven multinational food and pharmaceutical companies including of course, Nestle and Roche. However, three delegations alone were from Wyeth.

The 2003 CODEX must have been considered such a success that the Australian delegate, Ms. Janine Lewis, Principal nutritionist, returned with another delegate the following year, Ms. Jane Allen, Senior nutritionist. Both are employees of the Food standards Australia and New Zealand FSANZ, a TGA related department which has joint committees with the TGA. The two departments share personnel, resources and curiously similar agendas. Interestingly, Val Johanson, formerly of CHC states in her bio that she; “held positions in the Australian Public Service as head of food standards at Federal level and she also established the Therapeutic Goods Administration’s surveillance unit, which she headed for almost four years. Positions currently held include; member of the Complementary Medicines Evaluation Committee, Chair of the Therapeutic Goods Advertising Code Council, Head of the International Herbal Regulatory Task Force of the International Alliance of Dietary Supplement Associations”.

There is much confusion deliberately generated by the regulator and its corporate partners to obscure the real agendas. Is Australia’s participation in CODEX about food or supplements? (therapeutic goods). The answer is both. This is what a law link had to say about the legal interface between foods and supplements after the changes to the Therapeutic Goods Act that was rammed through after Pan. “Food can now be a therapeutic good. The TGA is now able to designate food items as therapeutic goods. Previously, prescribed foods were not classified as therapeutic goods. Now, where a food product prescribed under the Australia and New Zealand Food Standards Code is designated by TGA as having therapeutic properties, the TGA may declare the product to be a therapeutic good, and therefore as subject to regulation under the Act.” (30) That includes vitamins and supplements which the TGA Act regards as medicines and drugs under the title of therapeutic goods.

The TGA has this to say about food being classed as medicine; “products which may fit within the definition of either a food or a medicine [supplements] are referred to a joint TGA/FOOD STANDARDS Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) committee which recommends whether the goods should be regulated as a therapeutic good or as food. This means TGA/FSANZ sends delegates to CODEX to get their orders about supplement regulations from overseas.

Conclusion

There is no more point to denying it. Australia is participating in CODEX. But that is not all that has occurred. Starting with Pan in 2003 the TGA and its trans-national pharmaceutical corporation allies waged a hostile take over of the Australian supplement industry. Later that year the Australian government signed a treaty that enabled the TGA and the pharmaceutical corporations to form what amounts to an offshore corporation. This would keep the voters at arms’ length and put the monstrous new “Agency” into the direct international jurisdiction of the WHO/WTO and CODEX. As a final blow Australian voters were not even privy to a new TGA amendment bill 2005 that caters to the needs of the drug corporations. All this because a trade war is raging. Bad news about drug deaths is getting out. Drug companies need to take over supplement market to offset their financial losses. The cost of this desperate corporate last stand is Democracy and Health Freedom. Why consent to that? When you can do something about it.

Australians and New Zealanders who value their lives, health and freedom can join into Eve Hillary’s Health Freedom – CODEX campaign and choose an option from the two pages of easy health freedom suggested initiatives. OR they can create their own initiatives. Everybody can do something to restore Health and Freedom for all. See you in the winner’s circle."

As I have said in the several threads I have started on this topic, I am more concerned about American freedom and sovereignty than I am of any overly controling body keeping me away from my supplements.

I really don't give a darn about Quackbusters or whatever it is, as I have never even heard of them. My skepticism about "alternative medicine" has nothing to do with them.

I see you have not addressed at all the alleged Snopes connection.

I prefer to use sources like JAMA, The New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, and other medical journals, personally.

This would come as a big surprise to everyone running a double-blind test right now. . .

My major objection to "alternative medicine" is that first of all its proponents typically rabidly deny any usefullness of traditional medicine at all, and secondly that there is no proof that any of these "cures" work. Sometimes they hit on something real, and this is then noticed, tested, and taken into the mainstream (like the use of artemisinin for malaria treatment).

There is also the assumption that because most of these treatments are "natural," they are safe. This is definitely naive. Only a couple of weeks ago I was reading about deaths in cancer patients due to hypercalcemia caused by multivitamins or shark cartilege supplement. If it weren't for practitioners of traditional medicine noticing these deaths and reporting on them, more cancer patients would be killing themselves "naturally."

Well I'm not surprised by your cowardice. I made a genuine and sincere wager of $1000 for you to back up your ridiculous claims, and while you babble away about how the Federal government has not "one speck of respectability", your major source for all of this conspiratorial hoo-hah originates from Quackwatch and their affiliates. And yet you have the gall to ask for "proof" and when proof is provided, you dismiss it out of hand because in your fantasy world, it has not "one speck of respectability".

Your hypocrisy notwithstanding, you reveal your true color (YELLOW) by trying to joke your way out of putting your MONEY where your (BIG) mouth is, and taking the bet I'm offering.

You lamely try to escape with some childish "quit joking and wait and see" response, make one more reference to "The Vitamin Gestapo" (GASP!) and then you actually have the nerve to say that you are:

" more concerned about American freedom and sovereignty than I am of any overly controling body keeping me away from my supplements."

Oh REALLY?!?

Your entire life is wrapped around this issue, which is why you run a business out of your home 'NaturalFamilyCo.Com', and look down your nose at anyone who doesn't embrace your naturalistic perspective on life, while you openly admit that you "cheer for Tom Cruise" in his Scientologist fantasies about mental health and how medicines are totally unnecessary.

27 Years ago, you would have been a perfect follower for Jim Jones' Peoples Temple and most likely would have been the first one not to sip, but LEAP into the big vat of Purple Flavoraid.

Don't expect anyone to leap with you in this latter day cult fixation of yours.

Now that you have been unveiled for the phony you are, for the record:

That $1000 wager of mine was NO joke.

But apparently you are.

Now GYAOH and get a life.

Not afraid, I just don't bet.

I gave the medicos 21 years of my life, and when the psyche profession left me for dead on the chemical highway, I picked myself up, brushed myself off and ran the opposite direction.

I've been running hard for 15 years.

In those years I have found a quality of life and the keys to my own wellness in alternative healing and nutrition.

Enjoy the life you have and I'll enjoy the life I live....we can agree to just live and let live.

I'm not a coward. It took every ounce of strength I possess to cut free of the medical profession and their cult of drugs, surgery, and "Better living through chemistry".

It almost destroyed my marriage, my life, and my relationship with most family and friends to make the difficult decisions I have made. When I informed my husband twelve years ago after the birth of my third child that no more would I be giving birth in a hospital, it nearly destroyed us.

But he delivered our fifth baby, and it was the most sacred and beautiful experience of our marriage.

This is my testimony of natural living. Call it what you like; joke, cult, (do I really need to go back and find all the names that have been thrown around about me and about my life on this thread?), as I said, the quality of life we have found has been really nice. I don't look down on people caught up in medicine, I feel sorry for them.

When you sow the wind, you reap the whirlwind. Because of the direction we are headed, really all over the world, in our allopathic dependency, the whirlwind is going to continue to blow until individual families finally realize that we have sold our birthright of empowered natural living for a chemical mess of pottage.

Women in our society are not suffering from a deficiency of prozac, birth control pills, and epidurals. They are suffering from mineral, vitamin, and nutrient deficiencies.

Big pharma just wants to get its paws into the nutrition world, but instead of playing by market rules and allowing the market to determine who has the best product, like the selfish pigs they are, they want to control it and dominate it, and attempt to sell vitamins and nutrients the same way they have peddled their drugs - by prescription only and with a doctors "approval" because we all know how very dangerous vitamin C is.

Some of us are loudly attempting to expose this fraud, monopoly and power grab for what it is.

If you are too brainwashed by the cult of death shoved on America by the AMA and the pharmaceutical companies that control it, I am not the one to convince you otherwise.

you said:
"Don't expect anyone to leap with you in this latter day cult fixation of yours"

I dont' expect anyone to live the lifestyle I live, but the Medical profession has no problem shoving their practices on any family who gets caught up in their money making schemes. And using the courts, the infrastructure of police, social workers, and the media to force families to do things they don't want to do. Talk about cult like force - wether it is forcing a child to have chemo or a mother to have a c-section or a child to be vaccinated, the power of the medical profession to shove their chemicals on all of us is in fact a cult like power.

All I am doing is telling individual couples, you do have a choice in how you raise your family.
