I lived in the unfashionable part of Austin (north central (Koenig and Burnett/Lamar)); I mostly stayed in my little neighborhood with the rest of the whitehairs. I wouldn't see a hippie for weeks, only when I'd emerge for trips to Waterloo Records to plow through the resales. It was great!
I know RR is very tech-y - the libs there at least bathe. :-)
