Ironically, I've been looking to replace the Firebird for some time but now it looks as if it may be the other way around.

1991 Camaro, RIP.

I wish someone would crash into the wife's Taurus.

If only Chevy could make the body last as long their engines. My '78 Camaro with the 305 V8 was still kicking with 185,000 miles but the body was shot.
I have an '02 Camaro now. It's nice but still doesn't have the heart of my '78. She never left me standed anywhere and I wish I could've driven her til I died.

You may have seen this car at TheRightGuy's house party a couple of years ago which was just after the last accident. Maybe it just doesn't pay to be a car owner in Cook County.

The Firebird just goes and goes but is getting pretty rusty around the wheel wells. I was considering going the Bondo route but it doesn't seem worth it. My main problem, though, is the worn-out driver's seat.

Yeah - that was the major good thing Friday because a few people could have easily been nailed.
To: Chi-townChief
Sorry for the incident. Hope it gets sorted out.

I wish I could've driven her til I died. Careful what you wish for.

Guy at work (lives in Urbana) wants to borrow my engine hoist to help get a 68 (I think he said) Camaro that he is restoring on a rotisserie that he is building. This is his second Camaro (same vintage) that he is restoring. Both vehicles needed some welding on the body underneath and he did the first one from underneath. Said he doesn't want to do that again.
Doesn't sound like you are interested it that degree of "Do it yourself."

I had an '87 Firebird. Although I'm not exactly a car buff, it was my favorite car! Totaled in '94 (no, not my fault!). It was a very sad day. I haven't loved any of my cars since like I loved that one!!!!

Yeah - I'm that way with the '91 Firebird but I know the end of the line is coming.
To: Western Phil
Nah - I'm just waiting for news here and, if the car is totaled, to see what alternatives I have.
To: Chi-townChief
You may have seen this car at TheRightGuy's house party a couple of years ago I remember it, but I don't think an insurance company is gonna pony up for much on anything '91 no matter how cool it is.

It's cute. However, I wish I had my 67 Dodge Coronet 440 back. Stupid ex-wives...
