Ice glistened like crystal against a brilliant blue sky. But the ice that made the branches sparkle in the sunlight also weighed them down, causing them to break under the burden. The same can happen to those who have glittering lives. They call attention to themselves with stunning beauty, talent, or intelligence. People notice and admire them. But eventually the weight of pride causes people to crack and break. The reality is that God alone is worthy of all praise. Job's friends called attention to themselves by speaking as if they were experts on suffering. When God had heard enough, He pointed out to Job that no one has knowledge, power, or importance apart from Him. Later, He sharply rebuked Job's friends, and said, "You have not spoken of Me what is right" (Job 42:8). True worth is in exalting God, not ourselves. -Julie Ackerman Link

Knowing God Through Job |
"If you are able, save for them a place inside of you and save one backward glance
when you are leaving for the places they can no longer go.
"Be not ashamed to say you loved them, though you may or may not have always.
Take what they have taught you with their dying and keep it with your own.
"And in that time when men decide and feel safe to call the war insane, take one
moment to embrace those gentle heroes you left behind."

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend and the gorgeous weather.
Good afternoon, Syncro. Great to see you.
Thanks for bringing Felton's Covered Bridge. I have never seen this bridge. Time to dig out an atlas to see where Felton is located. Ahhh ..... Santa Cruz ...... seems that I knew this but couldn't retrieve the info. :)
The bridges posted on this thread are wonderful. I hope you had a chance to see them.
Hope you're having a fantastic weekend.
Neat Jazz. Thanks, Victoria.
I'm not going to be here very long.
My sis is having a garage sale tomorrow so I have been cleaning my garage. I have my car full of stuff to take to her.
Our son is taking us to dinner and by Costco for a few things to replenish the pantry. My pantry looks like Old Mother Hubbard. Even my dogs are complaining. :)
Have a great garage sale. Here is one more for your enjoyment.
Let's dance...
Beautiful bridge, OESY.
I bought it the last time I was in NY so don't you be trying to sell it!
I really enjoy listening to the Big Bands. Thanks.
I have not been able to find any Jazz audio except in real audio format.
Let's Dance by Benny Goodman is a wonderful example. Luv it!
How about something by Dizzy Gillespie?
Can't find it. Sorry.
