I have very much appreciated that part of her during intense political discussions. But there was nothing going on during this interview. Craig Ferguson was not confrontational with her at all. It was not political.
In fact he seemed sincerely interested in learning something about HER. He asked her more than once about HER.
Sadly I think all he learned was to tell his booking people to keep that mouthy woman off his show.
If all she's got is that smart mouth and isn't capable of just having a conversation, then something is wrong.
She would be more effective if she could appear human from time to time.
I usually just ignore her, but she was out of line and out of place tonight. This wasn't political banter. This was simply a bullying.

"No, I'm not even remotely jealous of Ann Coulter. I have nothing to be jealous about.
Interesting that you guys think the only thing women think about is how we measure up against other women.
For the record, I don't have anything to feel bad about at all.
She's just obnoxious. I have no ulterior motive for saying that" .... end of your spoof on the primary principles of denial...
R.O.F.L. You WERE attempting sarcasm, right?

One other thing I noticed. Did you notice that she was cheered by the audience at first? Even the first couple of things she said. Things about Clinton I believe.
Did you notice that she completely lost the audience when she started that weird babbling about CBS and Craig losing his job if they found out he was a conservative?
I don't know if the guy is conservative or not, but that was way out of place, it made things awkward and uncomfortable.
In the beginning, I got the impression that he was somewhat respectful. By the time she was finished, he looked uncomfortable and the audience was mainly quiet.
This was a disaster of a performance in my opinion. I care because as one of the "faces of conservatism" she puts out a very negative vibe.

We must have been watching DIFFERENT shows. :o)
I was in the studio audience, about thirty feet away from them (in the FRONT ROW, naturally!) and he certainly WAS confrontational -- often.
Perhaps we can watch it AGAIN -- and get a few SECOND opinions, when it comes on out here on the West Coast, in about twenty minutes, or so.

Well, imagine where Ann'd be if she looked like a female Barney Frank.

That's nice. You sure got to your computer quick.
I won't be watching again. I have my opinion and I expected plenty of flames.
I think she was a witch and he was baffled by her attitude.
Of course, I realize that most of you are Ann worshippers and wouldn't notice bad behavior if she stood on the table and slapped you.

If Ann took her looks and brains and added some charm she would be appealing to people other than the FR Ann Coulter Cult.
She could be absolutely wonderful as an example of a bright lovely conservative woman. Instead she (and all of you) settle for a bully in a mini skirt.

Yeah, we were under strict orders. :(
The General Manager of the show approached me before the show began, when she found out that I was the "ring leader" of the group from Free Republic. She told me to tell the FReepers to remember that this was NOT the "Ann Coulter" show, and to give their guy some respect.
Naturally, we agreed, but SEVERAL times throughout the evening, they warned us NOT to cheer or hoot TOO LOUD when Ann was on...
...with the implied threat that we would be removed from the studio audience if we did.

Oh and those people you pinged? I'm ready for their flames also.
I think you got distracted trying to look up her skirt.
Ann could be wonderful for us if she could act like a real person instead of a mouthy bully.
There was nothing political going on. There was no political discussion, but she took it there with plenty of bizarre remarks that seemed to come out of nowhere.
She's not doing us any favors.

Instead she (and all of you) settle for a bully in a mini skirt. Err, can't speak for anyone else, but I'm neutral on Ann. She doesn't do much for me either way. :-)

Listen RonDog. I think Ann Coulter is a lovely woman with a fine mind. Sadly she is also very mouthy.
Telling me that you had an FR group does explain the cheers for her when she came on and made the Clinton remarks.
I thought it was strange, but was somewhat heartened that "mainstream" audience members were cheering for her. Now I find out that the cheers came from the Ann Coulter Cult and therefore didn't mean anything.
Craig Ferguson tried to calm her down so he could just talk to her but she did that rapid fire smart aleck crap. No normal person will ever remember anything she said because she talks too fast and without any real direction. But they WILL remember that she was obnoxious.
She could do much for us if she knew when to smart off and when to show her intelligence in a charming and ladylike way.
She wouldn't lose one single ounce of her intelligence and would gain some level of respect from mainstream America if she was less of a bully.

Thank you for taking the time to actually read what my objection to her is. I appreciate that.
She could do much more with her assets.

...and then report back here about Ann's "charm."
I will grant you that Ann was a little defensive this evening...
...but she had been warned that Craig was planning to attack her -- right from the start.
Perhaps he decided NOT to attack her as aggressively as he intended -- when he found out that there were a LOT of "Ann Coulter fans" in the audience -- including TWENTY Marines, just back form Iraq, in their full dress uniforms.
And, perhaps he and Ann "mis-communicated" -- often.
But she **is** learning to move beyond the "slash and burn" retorts that have proven so effective for her in verbal combat with the hard-core leftists that she USUALLY battles...
...and start to "reach out" to uninformed center-lefties, like Mr. Ferguson -- even if she has not fully mastered this transition.
