You could not be more right about Celucci. Also, the Jane Swift fiasco in Massachusetts land was about as bad as it got in regard to the Republican party.

I'm a New Englander with far too many generations here and gone to leave. Its home...whats one to do. I'd be so far out of place in the South I wouldnt know what to do.
I guess its ' down with the ship ' here in beantown.
I have dreams of the Republicans finally getting it together here but its just that, a dream. Our Gov. Romney is a good man but he faces idiiots day adter day on Beacon Hill.
It really seems pointless.

I had some of every one of them...that's funny, since I speak in a very formal manner!!
I mentioned in an early post on the thread that I am often perceived as a man on FR due to my writing style. Later, when I did the "What Type of Brain Do You Have?" test it came back as 40% female and 60% male.
Even the "thinking style" test was spot on.
This has been a very interesting thread so far. It appears that several women on this thread also have male-dominant traits and thinking styles. Not surprising, though; rationality as a metacognitive thought process is directly related to our ability to process information logically, instead of emotionally.
I'm one of the few women I know who gets whipped up reading DOD and CRS reports, particularly on nuclear threat assessments. Most of the women in my neighborhood get whipped up about craft fairs and sales at Kohl's.
Sigh. It gets lonely out here without FR.

Romney is a good guy like you said, but unfortunately the east is full of liberals, and that makes the work of a Republican increasingly difficult.

It would be a tough transition. I know; my husband and I moved from Long Island to Texas in 1996. The entirety of my family still resides in New York, the majority within just a few miles of each other.
Texas is far more comsopolitan than many presume. Everything is less expensive, and you could buy twice the house for half the price. Ironically, salaries are on par with the Northeast, but since there is no state income tax, you get to keep more of what you earn.
My husband and I initially took a joint $20K annual cut in gross pay to make the move; however, our NET income remained the same. Meanwhile, we purchased a 2000 sq ft house for under $92K. You couldn't buy a fix-me-up bungalo in Long Beach, LI for under $250K. Houses in Merrick, where I grew up, now start at $475K.
Sorry, we wanted something better, and we found it in Texas. I miss the ocean, and the beauty of the change of seasons, but not the taxes or the outrageous wealth-transfer programs that sap the strength from producers and give it to the loafers.
