Thanks for the morning entertainment.

When it gets really desperate over there, like the day after elections, DU usually shuts the site to outsiders.

Yes, the thought of libs huddled in their basments with horded ammo is just deliciously ironic!

I've been saying for a number of years now that 2008 will be our most important election since 1800.

The radical left has been living in this dream of incremental progressivism for many decades. They've always thought that losses were only temporary setbacks in the path to the inevitable socialist utopia.

But Dubya has scared them. Not because he's more extreme than Reagan was, but because he's made them realize that we're not moving in the way that their theology has always said they would.

They're beginning to realize that they've been losing. That the Reagan Revolution was a true revolution - and that they're faced with a competing and compelling ideology.

And that they are looking at a future of freedom, prosperity, and individual liberty.

And it scares the willies out of them.

And the thing is that they've grown to believe that they are entitled to power. That a government is legitimate only if it works to further their collectivist ideals.

They're going to lose the power to filibuster in 2006. Rendering them powerless. And in 2008, they'll gain nothing back.

That's when they're going to be most dangerous. I put the odds are less than 50% that they will accept their loss without violence and civil war.

Call in sick for a day, a week. Don't buy any thing but what you absolutely need to live. Don't fly or us credit cards etc. If we started doing that alternating months the basters will be begging us to reengage...

BASTER'S UNITE!!!

If the baster's unite, how will Lesbians have children?

I've been saying for a number of years now that 2008 will be our most important election since 1800.

Hillary is already building up a stockpile of ballots to be used in November 2008. The Republican nominee is going to need at least 55% of the vote to have a chance of winning.

DU was shut down to outsiders in the wee morning hours just after election night '04. Just picture worlds colliding and stars exploding to imagine what was going on there. They must have been shreiking from the rafters. Agonizing reappraisal indeed!

I love it on DU when someone issues a "call to the barricades" and somebody replies "Well, I can be there tomorrow between 2 and 4, but the next three days are bad because......." They have no gas in their tank for this.

Back in the 60s and 70s we rioted and got shot

We burned the cities and got shot

We took to the streets and got shot

We can again and we'll get shot

We just have to get angry enough to get shot

We are in control of the new media. Just like the GOP spent years building up control of the 'old' media, we've already entrenched ourselves, in what is already becoming the new source of all information.

Something tells me that they might have this a little backwards.

My first shock from lurking on DU is that they fervently believe that the mainstream media is totally in the tank for George W and conservative causes in general. I think it's because they regard all corporations as inherently evil. Also, if you don't "see" things the way they do, you must be evil (or very stupid, if they're feeling charitable).

I laughed at the one who wanted to Go Nuclear, by divesting themselves of everything red. I guess they didn't read the report that wearing red in sports leads to more wins.

Does anyone win at hackey sack? Maybe this won't affect them anyway...

I personally believe those "divest yourself of everything" movements don't accomplish anything except creating a group of sad, deprived people.

The funny thing is that some of the DUers spend quite a bit of time denying that they are tinfoil hatters. Simple rule: If you spend time denying you're a kook, you probably are one.
