Howdy! We have a camper and would love to hear about places people have been that are kid friendly, lots of things to do, not sit on your a$$ for a week type of places. All 3 kids are under 4, so we need to keep that in mind as well.

Howdy back atcha!!!!!

My thoughts this morning was how lame my "topic" was - but now I am starting to think it wasn't so lame after all. the ideas for future klatches are coming fast and furious.

I'm not much help when it comes things to do and places to go with kids because I only have the one and we rarely go anywhere :)

The area I live in abounds with campgruonds and cabins with lots of things to do - but with 3kids under 4 a lot of it would probably not fit your family.

Hi Gabz and Everyone!

I know what you mean about nighttime medicine. If I take niquil I startle awake about 4 A.M. and I feel really shaky and totally disoriented for the rest of the day...kinda like a hangover! I would rather be sick.

Topics: Recipes gets another vote from me and how about cost cutting tips, how to save money grocery shopping etc. I think discipline would be a fun and interesting topic.

We don't have a camper, but we have kids. When mine were as small as yours, they were really happy swimming. Hotel pool or beach. They loved both. They also really liked little amusement parks and fairs. And farms and zoos. With little kids, think little events or places. Things that are not the really big Disney/Six Flags type of experience. We saved those for when they are bigger.

We live near Lake Michigan and have found some wonderful beaches here. We have gone cherry picking with them while on vacation. We visited a petting farm and went to a county fair. They were really happy with this vacation.

Morning DUDLEY!!!!

I'm going to be bookmarking this thread for reference through the summer.

Had I not been so fuzzy brained this morning I would have remembered the idea I came up with last night which I have since remembered *SIGH*

That will teach me to either set up the thread on Thursday night - or not take any medicine on Thursday nights!!!

We're very fortunate in the area where we live. We're about 15 miles from inland bays and the Atlantic Ocean to the east and 10 miles to the inland bays and Chesapeake Bay to the west and there is some type of fair or festival here every weekend starting like next weekend and going through until October and nothing really more than an hour away.............we do lots of day trips :)

Lake Michigan has some gorgeous beaches--but it is easier for us to visit the ones on the mitten side!

Good morning! I'm jealous of you all drinking coffee, etc. Due to the pregnancy, I'm trying to only drink it a couple days a week. I'm REALLY looking forward to tomorrow morning! ;o)

I would love to hear more about camping ideas. We are considering getting a camper but will probably have to wait until one of the cars is paid of in the next couple of years. I keep seeing really old ones for sale for under $3000 and can barely control myself! It would help, I suppose, if one of us knew anything about fixing cars! We'd put more into it mechanic wise then the purchase price itself.

We're stuck here in Missouri with some pretty lakes and rivers but no mountains or oceans. Right now we just use the tent. This year will be the first time we take the kids (4 & 6) with us. I'm looking forward to it!

Another topic (don't know if it's been covered) would be gardening tips, what others grow and what you make out of your harvest. Recipes, recipes, recipes! Just a thought!

We used to live in Sheboygan, WI on Lake Michigan. The beach was awesome but the water was so bloody cold it hurt to get in it!!! The parks there were fantastic. A very kid-friendly place!

Cutting back on the caffeine during pregnancy was a great thing for me - I have never gone back to my pre-pregnancy consumption level of 5 or more cups a day. Finishing 2 cups is now a lot for me......and my daughter is almost 7!!!!

I'm not much help about camping - it's not high on my list of favorite things to do, but I will be more than happy to use it as an upcoming topic in the near future, as it appears to big a big fave for others.

I'm really bad - I could do gardening and recipes everyday, because those are 2 of my passions....particularly when combining the 2!!!

But as it is Friday, I must excuse my self from the table in order to spend a bit of adult time with my husband and some other adults along with a few adult beverages before we turn back into parents at 3:30. I will be back a bit later!!!

I have a suggestion for a future thread.

How about summer picnic and bar-b-que recipe ideas.

It would be a light-hearted discussion.

The southern part of Lake MI--the "crotch" where Michigan, Ohio, an Illinois run together--is refreshing for about six weeks in mid-summer, than right back to bitter cold. It's nice just to spend a day at the lake, though, even if swimming is out.

My kids were used to going to interior lakes. The first time they saw Lake Michigan, and couldn't see the other side, they thought it was the ocean!

Good afternoon everyone. My allergies have been awful, and I'm still in a fog, forgot about the table until just now.

Lots of good ideas being batted around, looking forward to the weeks ahead!

Love the suggestion!!!!

I'm hoping to keep all the discussions over the summer to the light-hearted side - heck, I just prefer them that way all the time :)

I feel for you, FRiend with the allergies, I really do.

My allergies/weather reactions are now totally skin related and appear to be concentrated from the neck up - my face and scalp are both a mess with eczema.

The ideas have all been great and I appreciate all the input - I can see how we're going to be having lots of fun in the weeks ahead!!!!!

I have been there with the eczema....it flared a couple years ago on my face really bad. Prior to that it had only been on my hands. Dairy triggers mine and so do acid foods like soda, coffee (had to switch to tea), citrus, tomato sauce.

The seasonal allergies I usually just live with, but for some reason this year I got literally sick from them. Prolly didn't help that I spent three hours in a dusty, mildewy farmhouse attic last Friday helping someone pack....shoulda had a mask on!

I've dealt with the eczema since I was a kid - it used to be behind my knees and the crook of my arms - but over the years it has gradually moved upwards - haven't had it on my legs in more than 35 years.

Stress will also flair it up on me or add to the normal seasonal flair ups - to put it bluntly - I've got it most of thetime and I hate it.

You have my sympathy, it's annoying stuff!

I agree with you about lighthearted topics for the table, I like those best.

Dh and the four youngest are fixin' to camp out in tents tonight...it's chilly...kinda doubting the 3 y/o will last. LOL. This'll be interesting :)

Have a great weekend Gabz and all!
