Some of those shows I think were filmed locally in L.A
My mom took me when I was 5 to Sheriff John Show and my brother was on Winchell Mahoney Show and Billy Barty!

Yes Bozo was great! lots of kids wanted to be on his show!

My best cartoon was the Jetsons!

I love the Jetsons, too. I was a Flinstones addict. I can still sing a lot of the songs.

Theres a town I know where the hipsters go
They call it Bedrock

You said well the response I try to give when someone talks about the "old days" before safety was such a big issue. I especially like to point out the part about how we're around to say "we survived," but others aren't.

Sure, like most other Freepers I'm nostalgic for when I used to bike all around town for hours at a time. But whenever there's a story in the news now about a kid getting abducted, most Freepers are also quick to jump on the parents for not keeping a close enough watch on their kid. Times do change, and we have to change with them.

It really is sad! it sucks to be a kid now a days!

We are just lucky to have some great memories!
IMHO:
What many of us do with each other on Freerepublic reflects who we are as people who interacted socially with others it's just now it's on the Internet because we don't all live in the same neighborhood! but if we did what a heck of a Block Party it would be!

Could you imagine if there were a huge FR meet-up? Some place big, like the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. I know I would be there with Mr. RK in a heart beat.

Me too! A Vegas trip would be real fun! One hotel only for Freepers!
Everyone would have to wear there Freeper Screename Tag

That would be so cool!

I love threads like these when they pop up on FR. It's fun to remember all the fond memories of being a kid.

If there were a FR block party, I'd of course bring the brats.

No cheese jokes people :)

As they say on the Flintstones, "Viva, Rock Vegas!"

LOL!! The nice thing about Vegas is that it's pretty affordable no matter where in the US people are traveling from.

I'm sure we could get a ton of people. What would be really cool is if we could get some big name conservatives to be guest speakers. That would attract more people and provide something to keep us all out of trouble... at least during the day ;-)

Maybe we could post on Gen Chat a Vanity thread on who would be interested in doing or attending something like this, and if there serious we could plan, I have done things like this before in the working world regarding convention stuff...

It is a really cool idea, but I have absolutely no idea where even to start with planning something like that. There was a FR cruise I think planned by MinuteGal or maybe the Inaugural Ball people could help? At the very least we would need a ballroom for a big party. If it turned into some kind of conference then there would be even more planning.

or the kids... or both...
