Thanks for the info. We haven't decided on a cruiseline yet, but there is a bus that goes from Orlando to Miami, and is at minimal cost.

How's the baby doing?

Good evening Chair. I hope all is well in your AO. I'll bet the store is very busy with Mother's day this Sunday.

I see you took knockoutoption to school today. You treated the cherry very well. I lol about the 1000 scientists. That's like we should all be communists because a billion Chinese can't be wrong...sheesh.

He/she/it was civil up until the point about "ritual suicide." I construed that post as a threat. Maybe I'm wrong.

Be advised, knockoutoption, don't type anything you wouldn't say to someone's face. Makes for good ettiquette, and civil discourse. I hope you join our little room in Jim Robinson's house again.

Hi, everyone! I am checking in, as I am back home after a loooong day.

My tree rose came today! I am going to place it in a large pot by the back gate, along with trailing flowers at its base and some ivy.

I have lots of plans, if only it would WARM UP!

I could use a bit of global warming!

I'm OK - I just "keep on keepin' on". As you know some days are better than others. I am so very fortunate that I have the clinic to go to each day as a volunteer! And, I pass lunch trays and have lunch with my Mom each day at our local Care Center (just across the parking lot from the clinic). How are you doing?

I am still upset about the frost damage to your garden. It is my worst nightmare.

When you asess your loss, let me know what you need to replace. I will send you divisions of anything I happen to have.

My biggest concern is a 20 ft Magnolia tree. Most everything else I can have back and looking good in 3 years. Even if I have to start from scratch. I always think it takes 3 years after I plant something to have it preform as it was intended.

I'm guessing the only TOTAL loss with the flowers will be the Trumpet Lilies. They are soft and spongy. There were around 30 or so of them, scattered around the Acre in raised beds (out in the open) or in Foundation Plantings around the House or the 2 sides of the big warehouses. Most other flowers will probably be set back, but if I prune off the bad stuff I'm hoping they will come back.

Perhaps I'll ask the Coopster about administering generous portions of Epsom Salts to encourage foliage growth.

Lilies can be replaced in a year. It's that tree I prayed over this afternoon. I will be crushed if it goes the trip. It is absolutely stunning the 10 days each spring when it's in bloom.

Well, some may think it silly, but I will be praying over your tree.

Thank You. I don't think it's silly at all.

This is the tree that 2 years ago hot hit with a frost, but not a hard freeze like last night, just before blooming. It never did bloom that year, and it didn't leaf out until July. I was sure it was dead. I prayed for that tree everyday from late March until after the 4th of July when it finally leafed out.

In late June I pulled the pick up over near the tree and stood in the back end and pruned the tips off ever branch I could reach while standing on a stepladder in the back of the truck.

I will never know exactly WHAT brought the tree back that year, prayer or pruning. A little of both, I suspect.

Thank you again for your prayer and your concern.

Good evening Guy. Good theme in post 212. Can you gin up one that looks like ol' binny boy's head on a pike on the south lawn at 1600 PA Ave., DC?

Then again, the wussies in the Press would probably toss their cookies.

Well, this has been a perfectly wretched day.

Besides the normally scheduled shenanigans, which involved rehearsing at two different schools, teaching, and choir practice, I ended up dragging my daughter to the instant care clinic at the hospital............after two weeks of "I'm better", "I'm worse", she woke up today MUCH worse. She was diagnosed with bronchitis AND a probable sinus infection to boot, and was prescribed the proper meds, including one of those new exotic designer antibiotics and some cough medicine that looks like it could cure just about anything & everything anyone could ever come up with.

I. Am. Exhausted.

And feeling rather lousy myself.

I think an early bedtime is in order tonight.

This infection is a strange one. I sound horrible on Sunday, but felt pretty good. Now I sound better, but feel wretched. I hope your daughter gets better soon. Remind her to take all of the antibiotic until it is gone. :) The cough syrup is great, I take it before bedtime and I wake up when the effects wear off.
