I know it was tragic that your father died when you were so young. However, even thin people have heart attacks and frequently die from them. I had an older sister who was very thin, never wearing anything larger than a size 3. My sister never abused drugs of any kind, nor was she anorexic or bulemic. She had a massive heart attack at age 40. She died twice and had to be recussitated. She had a quadruple bypass and was fairly healthy for the next 8 years. But, unfortunately she was diagnosed with acute Leukemia at age 48 and died 3 weeks later. She had an identical twin and could have received a bone marrow transplant; but, they couldn't get her stablized long enough to undergo the transplant.
My point is when it is your time to die you will die. Relax and enjoy your life and stop judging people because of their weight, lack of exercise or whatever. You don't kow what kind of blows have been dealt to them to shape their lives either.
Moderation is the key to everything.
Sorry lsee, but no luck there. I count myself as one of the fitter people I know of my age - 41 yrs old, 5' -11", 169 lbs, 32 waist, (no sixpack yet but a decent "4-pack"), 225 lb bench press, and closing in on a sub 20 minute 5k run time. I love to eat, and really love beer, but not looking like a slob when taking my kids to the pool or beach feels better than any steak or cold frosty one.
I think I read that Miss Zellweger put on some extra lbs to play Bridget Jones. I thought she looked/looks fine. I don't like bony actresses.
yeah ,...extra pounds lead to knee, ankle and foot problems ,...it isn't just true because I say so , common sense ,anyone?
I think she is confusing ogling, with pity.
Well, she never did say how tall she was..........
Depends on who gets tossed into the pot to be served as dinner, a meaty stew?
Being a male, I can say the same goes for us, lest we forget.
If she is halfway decent looking with a nice personality a lot of us are thinking "what a shame", or "what a waste".
Don't waste your time on this Bridget thing, then. Get the DVD of the "Pride & Prejudice" miniseries that was on A&E. It is excellent. It's a complete chick flick. Nothing but talking, dancing, and not one durn thing blows up! Yet, I enjoy watching it right along with my wife. Excellent dialogue. And planty of the brooding Mr. Darcy (your precious Colin Firth) for you to drool over.
Personally, I crack up over Mr. Bennett. Every word he says is a zinger.
That reminds me of the line from a legal African immigrant that wanted to come to America because even poor people are fat.
"yeah ,...extra pounds lead to knee, ankle and foot problems ,...it isn't just true because I say so , common sense ,anyone?"
That is a one way common sense point, and pretty narrow minded...this isn't always the case. I was at a pretty average weight, and very active. My knee went out, and I had to have major surgery on it. I was on crutches for 3 out of 5 months. Even though I eat very little, I gained quite a bit of weight. When I was ready for my physical therapy to start on my knee, I couldn't do it because the arthritis in my back was causing major problems, because of the immobility. Now, I'm undergoing steroid injections into my back, to try to ease the pain enough that I can build the strength in the knee and get active enough to lose weight again. This is also a battle because the steroid injections make it harder to lose weight also. It just goes to show, all people do not have the same story, and you don't know what they've gone through to get where they are today. Now that, my friend, is common sense.
Exactly.
I was never over a 100 soaking wet.
At 29 had my whole thyroid removed.
Big now at double and a half the weight twenty years later.
Glucose, cholesteral ect in the good zone because I eat healthy.
My work is exercise. Despite arthritis and the left overs from two fractured disks. I work hard untill the pain causes me to rest. Take herb pain relief and swim for pain relief.
I could care less what others conjure up in their mind of why I am fat.
What it has done is made me look past others physical shortcomings and look at their hearts.
I don't think he got it.
Hi Doc, ...so, my statement is narrow minded just because it isn't always the case?!!? OK ,...I'll never generalize [sung to the tune of I'll Never Smile Again]
