I used to actually be a fan of St. John's, which from a geographic standpoint, would actually make much more sense.

However, somewhere between that university's decision to reformulate their athletic teams' original name-in order to assuage American Indians who weren't complaining about a symbol that wasn't reflective of anything related to native culture-and their hiring of Mike Jarvis-complete with his contemptible analogies between supposedly beleaguered players and Holocaust victims-rooting for the Redmen became a soul-enervating experience.

Also, their team has pretty much sucked ever since Lou Carneseca retired.
