Why bother with a CCP in Arizona?

For one, the training is good (well, some of it is depending upon where you get it) and really familiarizes you with the relevant laws and such about carrying and using your weapon. Second, there are times when open carry is a hassle and a CCW permit will let you bring the weapon into some places where you may not normally be able to. Third, it does tend to make a person feel more confident about carrying the weapon as they now know the laws and such.

I just saw the Fox report on what you folks are doing. I found it to be 'fair and balanced'. Only one whackjob was quoted as saying "They don't live in Arizona and they're bringing guns and hurting people."

If I were the reporter I would have asked "Whom have they hurt?"

But that's just me.

Oh, I rather expect the liberals to say something along the lines of:

"The only reason there haven't been any violent confrontations resulting in the deaths of unarmed illegal aliens is because we've pushed the Minutemen into the lime light, and they wouldn't dare kill anyone now."

Because in their minds, anybody who owns a gun is just itching to pull the trigger while pointing the gun at a two legged, two armed, two eyed, one headed cousin of a monkey, who happens to have gotten lost while looking for a job on his side of the border.

It isn't nicer at all. It certainly beats "illegal immigrant" because that term implies the intruder is attempting to immigrate and not fly an airplane into the side of a skyscraper, pop a WMD in a crowded place, or massacre an elementary school. It implies we don't know why they're here and, frankly, we don't care. They intruded across our border - they're border intruders. Where "illegal aliens" simply implies a problem with their immigration status. In now way is the term an attempt to detract from their illegal and unwelcome status.
