You are absolutely right, but don't just blame JEB. George W and Congress could have saved Terri, as well as the US Attorney for that district (by enforcing the subpoena).
It is quite sad that FReepers don't understand the US Constitution. Jeb not only has the ability but the OBLIGATION to save Terri from an out of control judge, who basically ordered her execution (no food by mouth is an order he cannot make).
And if there's that much controversy here, why not just do it and sort it out later? The answer is simple...no one had the grapes to do the right thing. So some pissant probate judge tramples all over congress, the president and the governor. Not to mention us.
I'm done. Finished. Needless to say I won't lift a finger for the next election. It no longer matters anyway. I'll just stay home...the judges run this country. And I really honestly pity the next Republican pansy scumbag that calls me for a donation, because he's gonna get an earful.

Yes, great idea. Then we will lose the presidency and both houses of congress, and we all know the democrats elected to these offices will do a hell of a lot better at reigning in these legal fascists.</sarcasm>

Look, no one running represents my beliefs. I'm used to holding my nose and voting because it helps people like you, who neither care about nor appreciate the fact that I compromise my ideals to help people with whom I am not ideologically compatible.
BUT I HAVE TO DRAW THE LINE IN NOT VOTING FOR SOMEONE WHO WILL NEITHER UPHOLD THE CONSTITUTION NOR PRESERVE THE INNOCENT LIFE OF ONE OF HIS CONSTITUENTS.
Period. Debate is over.

The only thing positive about this Easter season is the celebration of Christ's resurrection. We cannot put our eternal hopes on mere men.

Perhaps you need a Civics 101 lesson.
From the Florida Constitution:
"All natural persons, male and female alike, are equal before the law and have inalienable rights, among which are the right to enjoy and defend life and liberty... No person shall be deprived of any right because of... physical disability."
Sounds like Jeb needs the Civics 101 lesson, either that or a testoterone injection.

Jeb Bush has ruled out a run for President. But as worthless, stupid-a$$ vanities go, this rates a 5.

It is becoming abundantly clear that that the Bush brothers are singularly unfit to reign in a law-breaking judiciary. They appear to have no desire to meaningfully confront judges, no matter how flagrantly they break the law.
This won't just be a referendum on the Bush brothers. This will become a litmus test for all potential office holders. At town meetings, candidates for congress are going to be asked, "are you proud of the way Jeb Bush caved to the judiciary?"
When asked that question, they are going to have to answer; they will need to decide whether country club republicanism is more important than the constitution.

Ever wonder how many Catholic conservatives will jump right back on the bandwagon with their Democratic union bosses, now that Bush has proved he won't really fight for life? Hmmm?
Probably not. Governor Bush has managed to cut a full 1/3 of his base right out from underneath the Republican party. Nice going, Jeb.
