When we went to give Okie his medicine tonight there was a baby loose , running thru the barn. Eddie was at the other end and told me to catch him. He had a halter and lead rope on. I'm used to big horses and I was kind of scared of him. I didn't know if he would go nuts and start kicking and jumping but he stood still. I put him in a stall and took his leadrope off but he wouldn't let me mess with his halter. I called the owner and she said he always wears it. Cute little thing but like I said, I didn't know if I was going to have a tiger by the tail or not:')

I'm not sure. Actually, I was thinking about something sweet, with the consistancy of PB, but nothing came to mind. When I give a dog medicine that he won't otherwise take, I roll it up in hamburger meat or something else to disguise it, and it usually goes down without a fight. I was trying to think of something a horse would take. Maybe just put it in a piece of white bread and roll it up in a ball?

I have a paste wormer tube I saved and cleaned out. If I have to give a powder or pills I crunch them up, then put them in the tube fill it with syrup let it stand a few minutes then just squirt it in. No mess, no hassle, no waiting for them to finish eating, and you know they get it all. That's how I'm giving Rusty his maalox:)

I homeschool the 15 y.o. son, and 'on-line public school' the twins.

The on-line school isn't too bad. Not the usual 'agenda'. But even if there WAS, I'm free to skip over it. LOL!

I'm going to try to ride three

Please send a picture.

It was impressive when I saw a guy at the circus ride only two horses at the same time. Three would be incredible! : )

Anyway, taking my daughter on a trail ride right now.

LOL:)

Have a good ride.

Horses are eating, I'm finishing up breakfast, then a little housework, then outside:)

I was told to up his feeding a few weeks so we have been mixing with oats. If he's picky or takes as long today I'll probally mix it with syrup and give it in a syringe though.

Welcome back guys! I hope you had a wonderful time, and can't wait to see the pics, and hear about your trip.
The Mt. St. Helens shot is really cool.
