Yeah, shade gardening is a challenge. You're pretty much limited to ferns, impatiens, caladiums and stuff like that. I'll bet the horses would love it if you planted corn out in the pasture though. ;o)

Oh, didja notice the concrete horse head in my "Garden"? It's got some kinda brown and black stain on it so it looks like old rusted cast iron. I found it at the Co-Op. I think it's really cool.

He is really cool :~D

I've been out weed-wacking the fence line. I'd much rather be using the mower, but it won't start.... again.

Jeez, you've really got to do something about that mower, or hire yourself a herd of goats. ;o)

I just sent you a couple of video clips I made on the ride this weekend. Not much, but I thought you might like to see them.

Actually, it's normally a 2 hr. drive but I figure pulling a trailer may be a 3 hr. drive. I walked him into the trailer last week 4 or 5 times and it didn't seem to bother him so much. Backing out his legs were shaking. I'd be scared too. (lol)

Miss Targets, anytime you feel like a trail ride overnight give me a yell.

I am going to take it easy with him...hope all goes well.

What interesting pictures. I don't know which one I like best:') I missed the horse in the garden and had to take a second look.

If you found just a small spot in the shade to plant, columbines, primroses and other natural woodland flowers would do just great. I am looking forward to having somewhere shady to make a woodland garden! : )

Well if your mower stays idle, you could replant your front yard! : D

Thanks a lot! Now that we got Jody back from the trainers, I will have something to ride. Might take awhile, for her to get used to going places too. That won't be too bad a drive for you then. He should be fine. Yes, and do take lots of pictures. I could tell you not too worry, but I always do when hauling horses.

Very nice pictures. I love the old Southern mansions. I picture myself as a Southern Belle, in my previous life..lol Your garden is beautiful! I have 4 flats to plant this coming week. I was going to do it this weekend, but thought I better wait. It has rained a lot, and cooled down to the 50's at night. Container gardening is the way to go.

On the prepurchase exams, there's no easy answer. If I had of gotten a prepurchase on Winnie, I wouldn't have bought her, her x-rays were horrible and of course, she turned up lame.

I got a prepurchase on Tuffy and his was iffy, he does have some problems, but I wanted him so badly I took the chance and never regretted it. If he would have had any major problems, I wouldn't have bought him.

I've only sold a few horses, 2 of them went back to previous owners (Juma's mama and a gelding I had), 1 was Juma and I had him priced so low he wasn't much of a risk and one was a palomino gelding that was basically given to me. I sold him to a friend of my brothers, very cheaply, for him to lead his son around on. This was about 5 years ago and they still have that little horse. No one asked for a prepurchase but I sold the horses so cheaply it wouldn't have made any sense to go to that expense.

I love your pictures! So colorful and pretty. I've never been to Alabama, it's gorgeous. Those plantation looking homes are incredible. Can you take tours through them?

I did have the vet check Sarah Lee out but just basics and immunizations. Like you, I already planned to buy her though unless he saw anything major that was wrong.

You're either having a big storm up there or you're fixing to.

Either someone fell down the stairs or I just heard thunder.
