I usually ride them up and let them stand a distance from it and listen to the whoosh a few times before taking them on past it. But even then they don't like it when it goes off behind them:).
It took me forever to the house baby proofed after JP arrived. I like being outside with him mostly too. He is napping now. When he wakes up well go out side and play in the little swimming pool I have for the dogs:). It's really hot today.
So when do you pick up your trailer?
Becky
I'll bet the back end almost passes the front end when that happens. ;o)
"Don't feel bad, I don't have a kid-friendly house either. I'm usually a nervous wreck they whole they're there. Too many expensive things to break"
My house is so kid friendly, it's scary. Anything breakable high up, toys in every corner, leather furniture, etc. You could put an elephant in this house and not worry about it. My carpets are disgusting but I'm not changing them out any time soon. I'm seriously considering hardwood floors, though.
Hi Rose. We haven't heard from you in a couple of days so I thought I'd give you a ping. I hope you are all ok now that the funeral and everything is over for Jim's Dad. Our thoughts were with you. Catch us up when you can.
Well yeah, you've got 5 kids! If it wasn't they'd all be dead by now, either from them getting into something or you killing them for breaking stuff. With me, it'd be the latter. ;o)
Hardwood sure is nice, but for kids and dogs, I think that laminate stuff that looks like hardwood would be better. At least until they grow up. It doesn't scratch as bad and most of it has a 20yr warranty.
LOL! Actually, the worst thing I've ever had one of the kids do was cutting up a comforter set I had just bought. My son was fascinated with scissors and one day I caught him cutting up the dust ruffle. He was about 3 years old at the time. Needless to say, I was plenty peeved.
Yeah, it's pretty hard to get too mad at a 3yr old. That's why kids are born so cute, so their parents won't murder them before they reach adulthood. ;o)
Laminate is what I'm thinking of replacing my carpets with - do you have it, how easy is it to take care of?
They put it down in my MIL's kitchen and have plans to put it down in the hall, bathroom and livingroom sometime later. You just damp mop it. It's easy to put down too. My Husband and his 2 brothers put it down themselves with a mallet and a jigsaw. You put down this thin plastic foam first, then the pieces just snap together with the mallet. It's called a "floating floor" because there's no glue or nails. The quarter-round holds it in place when you're done.
We'll be going down there in about half an hour... It'll take some time to do the wiring on the truck... Then we'll be back ;~D
WOAH!
It looked like the guy was ok, but I'm sure it rattled him pretty bad. I mean, DANG, that deer was jumping about 8ft high, or more. I guess you could call it "Revenge of the Deer".
woah...
I was thinking. How does pony do when left to herself?
I think he's dang lucky that it didn't gore him or his horse in it's panic.
She does OK. I give her Quietex, it's an herbal ~Valium~ of sorts that takes the edge off. She does some running and calling, but she respects fences and settles down when we are out of sight. I try not to dawdle once we've loaded horses, for the sake of both the pony, and the horses who would stress to answer back. I worry about it whenever we've been too long without separating them, like now... I'll be giving her a big dose of Quitex tomorrow.
Never mind my question. I was too slow on the reply, you answered it already.
