It's exciting isn't it? You need a shopping trip though. New glasses, pots/pans, towels, etc:') Can we see pictures?
To: Duchess47
Yeah and "Doc" can come do the deed:') I got swatted in the face with his tail just holding a themometer in. I had my hand beside his tail keeping it out of my way. He raised that bone up and went right over my arm.

Isn't your mare due any day now? Congrats on ;the house.

Yeah. He's stronger. He walked half way to us today. Much more alert. Him acting confused really concerned me. Another gelding now sick.
To: CindyDawg
Oh boy. I'm glad to hear he's better - is SL okay?

Yes, she is due the 1st of April, but I really think she is gong to go longer, she is not progressing fast enough for the 1st. So I will just keep a close eye on her.

I still haven't figured out what I saw him doing with a stomach tube though. All I can figure out was maybe to remove air. He put one in and flushed it with a little water and blew in it... I've seen my vet do this too. I asked him about it once and he said it's to make sure he's got the tube in the stomach instead of the windpipe. He blows into it first, then smells for stomach gas when the air comes back out. If he smells it, he's in the right place. Gross, but effective I guess.

My riding is going ok when I can get the weather to behave itself. Other than that, not much has been happening. I went on a trail ride on Friday, and that was a lot of fun. I had meantioned it a few posts back. There was still a lot of snow and ice and muck on the ground because the sun hasn't been able to get through the trees to melt it all and dry the ground out. And we ended up having to climb the biggest snow drift I have ever seen in my life to get from the street back onto the trail. Hehe. I almost came off. At the top, instead of sliding back down, my horse thought it would be great fun to jump off the top instead. Cross country anyone? :-)
My trainer has lots of trails that go out back behind her property, and the all seem to make a big loop and cross over eachother at the same time. I can't quite explain it. They're nice, but they're narrow and full of roots and logs and they slope all over the place. Of course, they're trails. That's what they're supposed to do. :-) They really emphasize the difference between level and not so level ground, and make you really appreciate the level ground when you get to it. :-)

LOL!! I also had an open can of coke in the console and he would've drank that too but he couldn't figure out how to get his tongue through that little hole. It wasn't for lack of trying though, coz he slobbered all over it anyways. Yuck! Nothing like horsey backwash in your coke! Needless to say, that can was abandoned.

Mornin'. It's nice here, too, already 55. Supposed to get to 80. It's really, really muddy, though.
To: PayNoAttentionManBehindCurtain
Good Morning. Cloudy, overcast and wet here. It poured all yesterday and last night. I honestly thought that we were going to get a small flood.

When does the weather really start to turn nice there?
I can't ever remember it really being cold in April, we have gotten snow before in March. April we usually get lots of rain. I hope we've gotten it already.

Oh, you know what, you're right. They did say that it's going to be really windy today. Oh well, it'll dry the mud up faster and tomorrow is supposed to be the nicest day of the week.
