It's alsmost 8:00pm now - I'm in Nevada.
I had to go and look at a map of USA! LOL It looks really beautiful where you are. : )
That's a swamp cooler on one of my neighbors house. We have that also. It cools by evaporative water system and it puts humidity into the house. Air conditioning is drying and we already have almost no humidity so we need the moisture in the air in the house.
I found this 513 acres for sale. They are willing to cut off what you want and even finance. I went and looked at it. It's right next to a darn colonia!
I couldn't live any where else now, I love my mountains and the fact that I can see 100 miles.
Well, "mismark" makes it sound like a bad thing! I think anything unusual like that is distinctive. I've never seen a big mark like that on a true leopard like that one!
Why the roof though? We have them up in north texas but we always had ours in a window. I have noticed a lot on roofs "out west" and figured a reason but didn't know why. Also brick the norm around here but block and stucco seems more popular the further west we go.
They're all built like linebackers. You must think my Arabs look positively scrawny!
Oh dear, probably wouldnt be the wisest move! Do you speak Spanish? I am sure that the land you want is out there somewhere! Probably not near a colonia though! LOL
I get by. I can read spanish a lot better than I can speak though.
What's a colonia?
Same with me with German and French. We are all going to try and learn Spanish this summer, I believe it is a good thing for children to learn another language.
"COLONIAS" are "colonies"... Unincorporated communities that are along the U.S./Mexico border where problems such as inadequate housing, lack of sewage or city water, or even electricity are the norm. High counts of disease and health problems such as cholera and hepatitis abound. Income levels are typically at poverty level, and households are usually 90%+ Hispanic and/or Spanish speaking.
I see. huh!
Well, I am gonna hit the couch... I'm beat. Good night everyone!
Someone sell raw lots cheap. Usually 100 dollars down and low payments. No paved roads. People who buy often can't afford lights, septic or water if even in an area that is covered. Usually they just pop up and they want services and the county has to eventually step in and run services. Sometimes it multiple family living. Small houses, cars, buses and lean-tos often the dwelling. Crime tends to run higher too.
Sad situation for anyone to be living in. I had heard a couple of years ago about sponsering a family that was down on their luck and living in such conditions. Disease and high crime was their worst enemy. It was heartbreaking to read about it.
My female cat just had 5 adorable kittens! The kids and I sat quietly and watched. Every time I thought she was finished, out popped another one! They are soooo darn cute.
Hair, I'll tell her she's not allowed to nurse them in public.
Goodnight!
Yeah. A few years back Eddie and I were visiting a Mexican friend. We had been fussing earlier about bills and money. Anyway this guy took us on a sight seeing tour. I felt really ashamed about complaining about tough times when I saw what really poor was. Some were living in cardboard boxes probably on 25x25 feet lots.
