Yeah, it was snowball of errors.

We had a neighbor girl that use to ride a momma mare, and her foal just followed, she never put a line on the foal. I got where I wouldn't ride with her, she was a friend of Jenny's, if the foal was going too. The foal would sometimes run ahead, and then drop back. 1. it was distracting to the other horses, and 2, sometimes as the foal passed another horse she would kick up at it.

But letting go is the best thing when there is a problem. They won't go far.

When they truly panic, there is no way to stop it.

That is exactly right, and something I don't like to think about:)

We tried some of that, just letting Cadence run loose with us... and they do have horrible trail manners, running ahead and trying to pass when it's really narrow. And the older they get, the more independent they get ;~D

I can't even keep hold of my pony when she used to blow up lunging, let alone a horse. We under appreciate their cooperation to our whims, I think ;~D

I am having an early lunch here. When I get done, I'm off to ride Harley. I'd like to get a really good 2 1/2 hour ride in on him. Hills and long trotting.

I'm gonna mow in the pasture today... There isn't much useful paster at all, but I want to cut down some of the scotch broom and Canary grass that makes it look weedy.

You are entering Harley in a CTR in May, right?

I'm so sorry for your family's loss and will be praying for comfort for you all and strength. Yes, the Lord met her with open arms.

Maybe with experience it changes but sometimes we just have lapses or don't think about "ok, this sounds like a good idea but..... Just dropped in on my lunch break to say "hi yall"

Experience is often the wisdom gained from dangerous mistakes... Some our own, some we just witness or hear about. I've made a few... but been overall both careful and lucky.

Thankyou everyone for your kind words and prayers. I didnt tell the children this morning as they had their exams. We told them this evening and they took it very very well. Not a tear in sight, instead they talked about how she could now see, and run and walk and read and do all the things she hasnt been able to do. They were excited that she is now with the Lord. We said a toast at supper to her spending her first night in Heaven!
All I can say is Thankyou God for being in our childrens hearts and souls.

Beautiful sunny day today... mid 60's. Pasture mowed of all the tall weeds... now if the grass would just ~grow~!

Found the horses napping in the trees.

The horses say 'look, we ain't got much to browse on out here either!'

Miss Cyn...

That's all for me today... I think tomorrow, horse baths!

We need to bath ours too! Why have we got white horses? Please remind me to buy black next time. No sooner are they brushed, tidied up and looking respectable, they find the deepest dustiest place to roll in!
Misty and Lightning look good though and Adge and Thunder are really losing baby curls and getting smooth, especially on face.
I know.......more pics will be soming up soon I promise! LOL
BTW, great pics once again!
