Just my 2 cents.

I've taken close to 100 hogs in my life, with my biggest being 535 lbs, that hog dwarfs my biggest.
1000 lbs, I don't know, thats one big pig.
What i really question is whether it wild or domestic?

the dna test showed it was a cross between a wild pig, and a hampshire domestic.
theymad ethepoint that no true wild living hog could get to 1000, there just isnt tht much access to food.
this one apparantly learned how to eat from the aquacultuyre fish ponds, and ate ultra high protein fish food.
why they didnt at least make sauage out of some the meat is beyond me

I could see it if he was eating from the sacks or a bin, but eating from the ponds?. Not many hogs are scuba certified. (why they didnt at least make sauage out of some the meat is beyond me) Big boars are lousy on the table, i prefer one between 100 and 150 pounds.

even the big ones make seem to make pretty good sausage. throw in a little comercial pork fat and you cant taste the diference between store bought.

also- we brine em and smoke em slow for two days. real good. even the big ones. although big for us is 300 pounds on the hoof. in fact I dont think I ever cooked one over 250.
