I was thinking the same thing as I watched it. Then I just chalked it up to the people in charge of programming. It was probably done purposely, IMO.
I'm not anywhere near a TV - help us out?
Fogerty is a HUGE Bon-Jovi level Democrap @sshole! CCR or not, I won't listen to the punk puke!
He sang It Ain't Me, which I've always thought of as an anti-war song.
What song?
You mean that there are actually people who watch the pre-game show? What for?
what a moron. playing an anti war song from vietnam era. i will never listen to that guy again.
the theme was honor the troops.
loser fogerty my a$$
Dylan's song?
I don't know if Dylan did it.
was this the song they played?
FORTUNATE SON
Some folks are born made to wave the flag,
ooh, they're red, white and blue.
And when the band plays "Hail To The Chief",
oh, they point the cannon at you, Lord,
It ain't me, it ain't me,
I ain't no senator's son,
It ain't me, it ain't me,
I ain't no fortunate one, no,
Some folks are born silver spoon in hand,
Lord, don't they help themselves, oh.
But when the taxman come to the door,
Lord, the house look a like a rummage sale, yes,
It ain't me, it ain't me,
I ain't no millionaire's son.
It ain't me, it ain't me,
I ain't no fortunate one, no.
Yeh, some folks inherit star spangled eyes,
ooh, they send you down to war, Lord,
And when you ask them, how much should we give,
oh, they only answer, more, more, more, yoh,
It ain't me, it ain't me,
I ain't no military son,
It ain't me, it ain't me,
I ain't no fortunate one,
It ain't me, it ain't me,
I ain't no fortunate one, no no no,
It ain't me, it ain't me,
I ain't no fortunate son, no no no,
- John C, Fogerty
I have no time to watch pregame shows! I have drinking to do!
I think you mean Fortunate Son and if so then you can bet that was on purpose.
It was the blue collar anti-war song of it's day.
I prefer Roland The Headless Thompson Gunner pro-war songs.
Now that IS an anti war song. They've used that one inappropriately before.
and wasn't it the song that the dems used on the anti-Bush ad they ran immediately after Rather's phoney memo story (but before it was exposed as being fake)
Fortunate Son. Good song, wrong context.
Fortunate Son
Yeah, you're right.
Sorry background while chores and such are done.
