This officer should take a nursing aide class like I did and learn how to put up with tempermental old folks.

And no silly billy-club retraining seminars to fret about.

haha.....or you could just twirl her around a few times and she'd get dizzy and fall down all by herself.....I thought cops should be more crafty

A Classic Case.
It's What happens when a "Feisty Blue Hair" doesn't Want strained Peas & puréed liver & Onions.
Try telling 'em "NO JELLO TONIGHT". They'll Riot in the Halls!

There is no excuse, none, for any cop to use a taser on a 75 year old woman, with the exception of the old woman brandishing a gun or knife, etc. That wasn't the case here.

My twelve year old son could subdue a 75 year old woman, or at least push her out of the building.

There's a reason this cop is in trouble. It's called excessive force.

To begin with, I gotta' wonder about a nursing home that calls the police on a 75 year old female visitor.

Anyway, nobody gets too hurt from a taser.

Wouldn't be too sure about that. When a 75 year old person hits the pavement, broken hips have been known to happen.

Me too. In fact, I think we should rethink the practice of having female cops who, lacking the physical strength of their male counterparts, may tend to rely more heavily on tasers.

Flame away!

The point about the Woman Cop is valid. What really irks me though is the existence of some misguided 'Rambo' types who, unfortunately, inhabit many police departments. They're like out of control adolescents eager to play with the latest 'Toy' or respond with overwhelming and unnecessary firepower all too often. They make the job of the conscientious, responsible cop all that much more difficult, add fuel to the anti-police arguments of certain Libs and, in general, degrade their offices. JMO

I knew guys like that in high school. They were always reading Soldier of Fortune magazine and couldn't wait to join the military or the police force.
