I forwarded a "sofa king" joke to my mom a few years ago. The instructions said something like, "Say this out loud if you don't get it."

She just wasn't making the connection and did say it out loud a few times then said, "I just don't get this". My dad was a few feet away and started laughing and told her to actually listen to what she was saying. She finally got it and I got coal for Christmas that year. ;-)

I don't know, but somewhere there is a Buick with the seat covers missing

Yeah. An old Buick.

I don't know, but I think the new blonde hostess of Antiques Roadshow shops in Babs closet. She looked like she was wearing a sofa last night, too.

I am a woman...I'll take the challenge...Think of it as Straight Eye for the, oh Never Mind (I'll only get in trouble with the Adm. Mods).

From an aesthetic point of view, she is a small framed woman, wearing a large plaid print...not a good nice. She needs to keep her patterns smallish. Earth tones are always flattering.

As for her general appearance, haute couture, botox, facelifts, and the work of a professional stylist can do alot, but when you don't have inner peace, and you don't respect yourself (how could she with the trash she spews) unattractiveness comes shining thru regardless of the surface work done. Just my two cents...

"Is it just me, or does Barbara (bow wow) Boxer seem to like to wear sofa fabrics for a suit?....inquiring minds wanna know."

Because she is Sofa King

Well, you know what they say?

If all else fails, lower your standards.

Good two cents, PennsylvaniaMom!

And I'll add that the color brown doesn't suit her sallow skin. She's washed out. Kind of dull. Her look is way too harsh. She should try for a more feminine approach...but that would lessen her "power" in the man's world - that kind of pycho babble stuff.

How'd I do, PennsylvaniaMom?

Furniture upholstry is cheaper than actually spending alot of money on a well tailored suit.

Probably said it all right there.

I was hoping someone would take the punch line down that path.

Perhaps she could don a paper bag over her head.

That's the best suggestion yet.

As a sidebar: Over the weekend I was watching FNC and they had feminazi Ellen Ratner on. The host on FNC (I forgot who it was) stated, that "...many are saying how beautiful First Lady Bush looked {at the inauguration}." To which Ranter replied, "I guess, but when you can afford any designer you want..."

I was floored by such flippant statement made about our classy ,respectable and dignified First Lady.

Liberal women are just a crass bunch. No other way to put it.

Her choice of clothing was determined by how she was going to couch her lies and propaganda.

Very, very good...

Now, Babs could soften her look (using her existing brown/earth tone wardrobe) by adding a softer color blouse or sweater. Mauve, taupe and mossy greens soften the harsh look of deep browns, navy and black...but alas, they are not 'power' colors. Gosh, I feel like a fashionista!
