I've never, ever seen a snow plow come down the street I live on, and have been here since 1991! In Southeast Virginia, there is not a lot of snow during winter. Major roadways are plowed but residential streets are left to fend for themselves.
When I lived in New England, we would often have that problem you describe. The plows would come down the street just after you'd finish the driveway, leaving you to dig out yet again. Don't know if there is a resolution to the problem. Good luck.
