10-20+ acre wooded parcels within close proximity to a newly-completed highway along a future growth corridor.

Growth? In a blue state? If it's anything like home, it's all crazy suburban flight. They keep building more and more shopping centers and such, and traffic gets worse and worse. But the state is supposed to be losing population. They must all be fleeing the real estate taxes near the city and coming out here. That, and I have a theory that the only people making any money are the people filling up the empty space with new Wal Marts.

The Pineapple Express has taken a break but San Diego is pretty much flooded the cliffs at the beach are ready to do kabooms on the sand, but if it stays dry we should be okay...

Western PA is a nation-leader in mudslides, but I've never seen anything like that happening in CA. We've got hills and valleys, but nothing like that giant hill that gave way. That's just scary. Thank God we're in an older geological area as well.

Dr Laura says about men "If I'm not horny make me a sandwich"

I think that's why twins are such a compelling phenomenon: one there with you and one in the kitchen making you a sandwich.

Not lost. I know exactly where I am. Several miles north of Toledo. :-)

Every time I turn around very nice housing additions, schools and banks going up. There is money somewhere but I just don't see how people can afford 1500-2000 dollar house payments here. I understand yalls wages are higher and property more expensive though so I'm just commenting about my neighborhood.

Seeing the truck behind it really puts the size of the boulder in scale.

ALong the banks of the Loyalhannah (source of Rolling Rock) there are a lot of rounded rocks of various size. You can tell glaciers put them there ages ago, and just wonder about the forces at work.

Actually, Pittsburgh is one of the lower real estate markets. Some people move into Mc Mansions, but an average house is around $100,000-$125,000. Well below that in some areas.

If civil means peace do you ever wonder why do we have: civil death, civil defense, civil disobedience and civil wars?

Cause, generally, they don't wear uniforms. :-)

I'm in Toledo. It's either this or Nanny 911 on the room TV.

It seems pretty clear that in this passage the author is stating that the rewards and punishments of the afterlife are based upon works. See also Matthew chapter 25. How do you reconcile this passage with others which emphasize faith/the role of Jesus?

How many times I gotta tell ya? It's all grace. You're picking at the weak spots of contemporary Protestant theology. Catholicism encompasses it all. That's why it's the universal faith.

Faith is a gift. So are the works that flow from it. Grace works in us and in our lives to bring about our sanctification. "Faith alone" is a falsehood. Faith is never alone.

I'm not at home. I'm in a motel. There's 60 channels, including HBO. At home, I have Dish network, 120 channels plus locals and HBO/Cinemax. I'm mising my BBC channel tonight. There's a new Kumars on.

I agree with Belichick. Whoever plays best will win the game. I must admit I am not confident. The Pat's are not at full strength and Manning may be due to break the "jinx".

Yeah, the Pats are definitely not coming into this game at full strength. They've got a track record of overcoming injuries, though. On the negative side for them is that they have to try to keep in check what has been the best offense in the league this year. On the plus side, the Colts defense is something like #29 in the league.

Quester, if you want to cheer on the Colts, that's okay. ;o)
