I like low humidity but that's too low. My nose would be bleeding all the time and I would scratch my skin raw.
I wish I had never posted anything about this:') You can still see the area and it's tender but it's closing up. If you steped on a nail you aren't going to have the same size opening the next day. Maybe she didn't need the second tetanus or treatment but my trainer felt I needed to keep it clean and apply ABT cream a few days since it was so close to her eye and the vet wanted her to have a booster so she got it.
And whatever caused it, it needs to be treated and kept clean, and the creme will keep it open I think to heal from the inside out.
You won't ever be sorry if you error on the side of cautiousness.
Sorry to make you feel bad for posting it, that wasn't my intent... it's just that we can't see anything in the picture to make an observation about.
I'm not sure how I would keep this open though. I cleaned it really good and probed around the area as deep as I could and then applied ointment .
I don't feel bad, just frustrated that I can't explain. No big deal though:")
I see Indians on paints on top of Mesas:'). My husband just rolls his eyes.
As long as it doesn't form a scab on the top it is fine, and it will heal right. It will probably heal rapidly also, if it bled, that would have helped in the cleaning too.
Well before I gave them up , I used to read a lot of western romances , or as my husband calls them, "smut books". Some times I walk by the books in Walmarts and still get wistful:')
Yall are talking about the actual eye? I thought yall were talking about white hair and I didn't see it on SL.
She really does have that look - Please don't kill me! She is sure pretty though, it's too bad she has so many issues.
I love that picture:')
No the amount of actual eyeball white that shows on Sara Lee is more than you'd see on a QH-Paint type, or most types... Usually you would see only dark, unless they are all stressed out.
Appys are unusual in the amount of white you see in their eyes, it's one of their identifying traits.
Boy is she limber :)
Will serve him right too:)

That's nothing... I haven't caught some of her more gymnastic maneuvers. She can scratch just about any part of her body. ;~D
Appaloosas have white sclera around their eyes, like human eyes. In appaloosas, it completely surrounds the eye and is an appaloosas characteristic unless it's on a bald face. I think sometimes horses with bald faces have white around the eye also.
