Some of Free Republics More Disgruntled

I've had some run-ins with a few of these trans atlantic "allies" before. Several of them call themselves 'Redcoats' by way of redressing supposed slurs on their nationality by any means both childish and petulant. The part I am having trouble understanding is the part about hanging around a board they have nothing but contempt for. Any resposes from the old country would be considered mighty white by this dumb yank...

You defended the 'God's water-wrath' argument on a thread on the Somalia tsunami death toll.

SS I did? News to me!

If I have misjudged your comments,

SS Yes you have!

please correct me by clearly stating your views on the 'tsunami - random happening initiated by collision of tectonic plates or act of God' debate,

SS EASY.. All you and others had to do was ask!

I don't know if God brought about the tsunami. It could only be speculation on anyones part if they said it was. Insurance companies would call it an "act of God". There are many questions I think will be answered when I get to heaven.

and if I am wrong, I will appologise. But don't play word-games with me.

Men debate, girls and cowards play word-games.

SS I have known many good women debaters. None resorted to the name calling played out here. None had to debase there arguments with lewd comments either.

I can't recall which of you said that "American conservatism is very different than British conservatism," but could you please expand on that?

Thank you for the question, I find it an interesting subject. I can't remember off-hand whether I posted that comment, but I have certainly made a number of remarks in that direction on a number of occasions.

My point is that conservatism does not live in a vacuum, but rather it develops and lives within the context of the society in which it is found. Thus American conservatism builds itself on the foundation of the revolution, and adds to that the history of America. British conservatism has its roots far far back, and again builds upon the history of Britain incorporating elements from each new development.

This contrasts with other ideologies which seek to impose a standard solution. For example, socialism (and its family of marxism and communism) will always seek public control of industrial resources, and will attempt to remove selfish motives in human action (that is its fundamental flaw). Conservatism seeks to incorporate all knowledge around it and then to apply that to its core values (e.g., country, family &c.) to produce policies.

British conservatism and American conservatism are generally similar because we are very similar countries. Others have given instances of variation, for example the possession of fire-arms is viewed as fundamental to American conservatives because of the position of the Constitution, British conservatives do not tend to understand that position, though I dare say that many of us would like fewer silly restrictions on fire-arms possession. British conservatives are (pretty much to a man, and in some senses by definition) supporters of the Monarchy, yet American conservatives look positively bemused at this - the monarchy being central to British society and yet alien to modern American.

I notice that different British FReepers have suggested that we are both more libertarian and more authoritarian. I think that we are more open to some things and less to others. The I.D. Card issue is a bad one, it has split through the Tory Party with many abstaining, and certainly many of us out in the country despise the idea; on the contrary I believe that most Americans would carry their driving licences around with them (which forms a government issued I.D.). Yet on the issue of homosexuality, I know of no British Tory who would seek to ban gay sex itself (and this includes many who find the act itself highly immoral); on the other hand there has been great complaints from Americans over the SCOTUS action stiking down the Texan sodomy law.

On basic issues, we both favour lower taxation, we both favour private enterprise, we both favour lower regulation &c.&c.&c.

'There are many questions I think will be answered WHEN I get to heaven' I see, so while you cannot say for sure if the tsunami was an act of God to kill the perverts or a random occurence, you can happily state that you WILL go to heaven. It seems that you are happy making suggestions when the subject concerns the fate of others, but you will assume the role of God when discussing the fate of yourself. Self-righteousness?

SS LOL No. Self confident in my savior Jesus Christ! When have I ever "assumed the role of GOD"? How about posting something to back up your words?

I am sure someone as obviously righteous and Godly as yourself could not possibly be sanctimonious and proud?

SS More condescending garbage.....

As for 'good WOMEN debaters', I did not say that women were not good debaters, I said that GIRLS cry to mummy (administrator) when they feel offended. You seem to be getting women and girls mixed up in the same manner as those paedophiles (who do not exist anymore, as they have all been wiped out by the tsunami).

SS I DID NOT cry to an Administrator. Your believing the other liars from the UK forum!

And finally, you started the name-calling when you called us cowards (post 15, in case you pretend that you cannot remember saying it)

SS. And finally when I called the posters on the UK thread "cowards", it related to their letting posters violated FR rules. Not one posted for the offenders to quit. And some posted in favor of the rule breakers. And at the time I called the posters "cowards" NO ONE was debating me!

And I knew you would not appologise for this lie: "You defended the 'God's water-wrath' argument on a thread on the Somalia tsunami death toll.

All that Rogermellie found out is that the hics posting on this thread cry to the administrator like little girls when they feel they have been offended...

Appears to me as though you boys found your own private little corner where you could piss on the host's rug, and then when someone noticed the stench, one of the pissers was invited to leave. Rather déclassé to complain about the treatment the micturators received, IMO.

"An Englishmans freedom comes from his heart and soul, it is inherent in his nature. According to you, an American's freedom comes from the barrel of his gun. Says it all, really."

An Englishman's Freedom (what little is left) also comes from the barrel of an American's gun. It's really the only reason you're not speaking German right now.

"To disarm the people - that was the best and most effective way to enslave them."
George Mason, (1725-1792), Member, Virginia and Federal constitutional conventions. Debate, Virginia convention for the ratification of the U.S. Constitution.

"The advatage of being armed....the Americans possess over the people of all other nations...Notwithstanding the military establishments in the several Kingdoms of Europe, which are carried as far as the public resources will bear, the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms."
James Madison, (1751-1836), 4th President of the United States, The Federalist, No. 26.

The Right of the People to Keep and Bear Arms Shall Not Be Infringed
2nd Amendment, U.S. Constitution

Now that....says it all, really!

"Appears to me as though you boys found your own private little corner where you could piss on the host's rug..."

That is almost exactly the analogy I was thinking of. Uninvited guests, welcomed nonetheless, until they use the host's hand towels as toilet paper. Then they bitch about their treatment. My question remains...why did they show up in the first place? And since they think we are stupid bullies and cowards, why do they remain? Boredom? Or too simple minded to find their own way to the exit?

<< .... Britain fought the Nazis for two years .... >>

Britain would never have been in a Twentieth-Century war with anyone had its moronic politicians ever got their heads out of their arses -- and even into the Twentieth Century.

Even Churchill, who, during occasional brief periods of sobriety, gave us glimpses of his American mother, carried on as if once great britain had brought any hint of its long lost "greatness" out of the Nineteenth Century.

But, alas, it had not.

Had the hint of what it had once seemed to be survived Lloyd George's socialism, Edward's degeneracy, Keynes' massive fiscal frauds and Chamberlain's appeasements its "greatness" most certainly was all mopped up and wrung out by the insane and asinine excesses of Atlee and every one of the ever-more-frightful fasciSSocialists who've followed him. [Including the much-vaunted champion of the South Atlantic who (With America's help) sent its ship, the aeroplane, the helicopter -- and the SAS and Royal Marines -- to whip the Faulking-with-her-islands Argentines into shape -- but cravenly surrendered Once FRee SOVEREIGN-British Hong Kong and its seven and a half million Once-FRee-British Hong Kong Citizens to the Pigking predators -- and in the process enrichened certain cabinet members and family members]

As for "fighting the Nazis for two years," had the American traitor, Roosevelt, not broken every American law he needed to break in order to equip a state too bloody stupid after WW-I to have hung on to even enough bloody .303s to equip a platoon or two of its Dad's Army with one or two -- that period's series of sound whippings would have been terminal.

As it was britain's "mighty" ships were sunk at every engagement and its land forces soundly whipped and sent packing at every turn. This, to not forget, including at Singapore where vastly superior forces led by the effete gin-sipping poofters who in those days doubled as British "officers" cravenly surrendered to fewer than half their number of exhausted and half starved push-bike riding Japanese. And to make matters even worse, Churchill -- not satisfied with having wiped out a generation of Good ANZAC Men in the Dardanelles in World War One -- deliberately diverted ships carrying Australian forces home from the middle east into an already-"planned"-to-be-surrendered Singapore, put them in the front lines -- and withdrew and surrendered behind them!

And then The United States of America -- and the Good Men, mainly, thank God, escaped Celts, of the Commonwealth and Empire came to once-great britain's rescue and once again saved your bacon, your lard -- and your skins -- from Herr Shicklegruber's concentration camps, rendering and soap works and lamp-shade factories and Hirohito's slave labor brigades.

Now shall I start on the Three Trillion Dollars that America has expended keeping all y'all out of the Gulag?

Three Trillion Dollars, that is, while the execrable Atlee and the many mindless morons who've succeeded him have bought once-great-britain's votes with the confiscated wealth of what used to be britain's most creative, innovative, productive and industrious [They're all, bless them, called "Americans," now -- and "Aussies!"] -- and have surrendered your nation's sovereignty to your Euarabian enemies and to the rapidly-multiplying third-world hostiles who have, while you've all partied and soccer-rioted and have become emasculated, feminized and homosexualized and have forgotten how to reproduce -- colonized all of Euarabia -- including its offshore satellite states!

Like I said before, even Homer Simpson gets it: "There's nothing pisses me off more or quicker that an ungrateful ingrate."

Lloyd George was never a socialist, idiot.

I don't mind that you have so little knowledge of English politics. But I do mind that you won't STFU about it.
