The Cypress freeway, wasn't it? I wasn't living in the Bay Area at the time, but had a friend living in the south bay, so I remember when it happened.

Yes. The Cypress Structure. I'd driven it maybe a dozen times.
Every single time I was on the bottom I'd look at it and say to myself, "Self? I wonder what this would do in an earthquake???"

I know this sounds weird but, you haven't changed things around in your house, especially in the area where your kitty likes to play, sleep, eats, etc, have you ? New furniture, new draperies ... anything like that ? Cats have been known to become very destructive when their habitat is disturbed....
Also, the last dog I had became allergic to her own hormones. She'd be fine for months then suddenly in a 12 to 24 hr period she'd bite the area around her rump so serverely that she'd pull out all the hair and really create a mess. Steroids helped make her comfortable but the problem finally stopped when I had her spayed.

AmeriCares is preparing emergency relief flights that will focus on bringing medicines and medical supplies, water purification treatments and other types of assistance to the affected areas. Reports indicate that more than 50,000 people have been killed by powerful tsunamis caused by a 9.0 earthquake near Sumatra. Indonesia, Sri Lanka and India have the greatest number of casualties, and the death toll is expected to grow even higher.
Your donation is essential and will be applied to relief efforts in this crisis

Emergency: Earthquake in South Asia December 27, 2004 In response to the earthquake and tsunamis that have devastated parts of South Asia over the past weekend, Doctors Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) is preparing to provide emergency assistance to people affected by the disaster. MSF is readying a full charter of relief supplies for the area of Indonesia closest to the epicentre of the earthquake.
In addition, MSF medical teams are on the ground in Sri Lanka, Thailand, India, Malaysia, Bangladesh, and Myanmar assessing emergency needs and offering assistance. MSF field teams in all countries where MSF is present, including Somalia and Kenya, are also investigating damage from the disaster.

Thanks for the post - my donations will go through the Salvation Army...they don't pay their Executive Director 400 large per year.
Cheers.

Well, I'm glad you're alright and you have the lifeline installed. You need to look into those comfy looking recliners that mechanically boosts you up out of it. I saw one in Wal-Mart the other day by the pharmacy. Really, Westy, that red chair looks as old as an Archie Bunker chair. LOL
