sounds like a fun day. there are all kinds of logs being sawed in THIS house but no firewood will result! xsbrownie are the only ones out of the 10 of us who are up and moving around. well, lucius is also, but he makes 11. xsSIL and i plan to go to our fave xs shop today, the xsgirlcousins and xsteen are going to hang out in Georgetown, so that xsteen can show them her HS and her fave haunts. xsboy's hockey game is this afternoon and the entire entourage will be in attendance for that. i hope you get to go to your junk shop, i would go with you if i was there!

Suggestion for political cartoon (I can't draw.)

Condi lifts up rock of "State" and stomps on the vermin underneath.

I'd love to have your company-Last month I made my big cedar chest under the window in the master bedroom into a window seat by putting a cotton throw and some decorative pillows on it and it turned out really nice-I'm hoping to maybe find chairs or benches to do the same with at the 2 windows on the loft.

that sounds like a great idea and it gave me one of my own. i had meant to have my mom's cedar chest refinished, it is down in our storage area in the basement, i had not gotten around to it. but i have been making the guestroom/stitch room (i have all of my xs crap stored in there) into an Americana theme. i have xs'ed some Americana motif pieces. xshub got some nice pic of THomas Jefferson, as an amenity for giving a speech, that he brought home and was intending to give away and i appropriated it for up there and so now i am thinking that if i refinish the cedar chest, i can put it in front of the window in there with pillows etc. as you have described! that would be perfect for that spot.

Sounds like a really great idea! My downstairs guest room has Americana-type furniture and decor, too. A couple of weeks ago I found some old framed prints that will look good in there at the aforementioned junk shop, but I don't have them all hung up yet.

my SIL has her living room done in Americana and it is just gorgeous. from picking out stuff for gifts for her for so long i acquired a taste for it and wanted to do a room like that myself. well i guess i better start lighting a fire under a few butts in this house so we can get going here. the traffic is bound to be bad no matter what direction we turn, as compared to yesterday when NO ONE was out on the roads. have a fun day T5, go crack the whip on yer hubby!

Morning ladies - I have a friend in PA whose entire downstairs is Americana - the old fashioned stars in a kind of faded red color - even her dishes match........ her house has a very open floor plan - you can see the formal living/dining area from the family room and kitchen - it all looks so pretty together.......... I always think of her when I see anything that would match her decor

Problem will be the rust and extra damage happening if if it's not at least repainted before the rest of the winter.

Dan, you and I have the same car! I have a '99 Explorer. Mine is champagne in color and because it's so high, it has the outside floor thingys to get me into it.

When I brought some stuff to Cyber's, we got a mid-sized U-Haul. That car just zipped through traffic hauling all the stuff. We were pulling a lot of weight.

U-Haul will not rent to anyone with Ford Explorers any longer. Did you know that?

I'm so happy you're safe and hope you got someone to pick you up for hunting season!

Words cannot describe my disappointment-my favorite junk shop just outside of Kerrville is no more-the owner has turned it into a restaurant full of antiques, which are all for sale and with a water garden room for private parties complete with chattering birds, a waterfall and a pond full of goldfish-aghhhhh! All the lovely junk in all the rooms that took hours to go through is gone (and the antiques are very ornate and gaudy, too, yech). Hubby and I both returned home profoundly sad, but we are going to go to the flea market 11 miles away tomorrow to see if we can find him a new hunting knife-hopefully they still have good junk...

For all the BS the media gives about those evil SUVS being 'unsafe' - the Explorer is tough as nails. I drove it today looking for an open collision place for an estimate. Seemed alright.

I read something about U-Haul refusing to rent to explorers. I forgot the reason behind it.

Morning-hope everyone had a nice Friday. Hubby is reading again-I told him he wouldn't be able to put that book down once he started it-good thing I've got the rest of the series so he can just keep on reading the story. I'm going to get a headstart on typing a bid, then go read a book myself.

Wanting more dick input ....

If your name is Robert, but you want more dick input, then you are gay.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

He's already gotten on deer earlier this month

Oh, I have not! I never got on any of 'em, here OR in Mexico.
That's one of those urban legends, like Tourist Guy.

Y'all just grow up.
