So treacly, only a Peggy Noonan could love it.
Dave Barry said of Bobby Goldsboro (paraphrasing): "You could've drilled a hole in him and let the sap out."

I'm going to enjoy the "Autumn of My Life"
Okay, that song's not too bad actually. I can at least relate to the lyrics somewhat.

In My Humble Opinion:
WAY TOO HIGH ON THE LIST:
15. London Calling/The Clash 1980
41. The Weight/The Band 1968
42. Waterloo Sunset/The Kinks 1968
52. When Doves Cry/Prince
165. Fast Car/Tracy Chapman
243. Love Shack The B-52's
DON'T EVEN BELONG ON THE LIST:
Anything by The Velvet Underground
306. That's Entertainment/ The Jam
461. Kiss/Prince
SHOULD BE ON THE LIST:
Funeral For a Friend/Elton John
Sweet Talkin' Guy/The Chiffons
Something by Rush
New Year's Day/U2
I'll probably think of more as this thread goes along...

There are nastier lines in that particular offense against mankind: "slipped and almost hurt herself, and I laughed 'til I cried" !!!???

Let's see now:
Not one song from Alice in Chains! "Would?", "Man in the Box", and and the heart-wrenching "Rooster" don't make the list?!?
They pick Metallica's "Enter Sandman" over "One", "Master of Puppets", and "For Whom the Bell Tolls?"
Dylan gets 12 entries but John Lee Hooker only gets one?
No Pearl Jam or Soundgarden? No Rush or Bad Company?
What sort of music-hating clowns do they have working at RS?
To: DemforBush
The same that have been there for decades. Jann Werner has already said about Rush not being nominated for the rock and roll hall of shame "They have never released anything worth being nominated for...what? Tom Sawyer? Yeah right. Bands like Yes,Rush,Genesis...can all hold their breath when it comes to getting into the hall of shame."
You made a good point with Alice In Chains...Would? is my favorite song from them and gives me chills to this day when I hear it.
